I am not found of mix in’s (especially hard chocolate-it is just me and textures) and kind of a plain Jane…plain cheeseburger kind of gal. I do like coconut and pecans so was thinking I could add those. I agree this ice cream recipe is brilliant. Thanks for doing all your trials and errors and bringing us your winner. I am still wanting to try your rolled ice cream method. Was always hoping to make it back to KY. Now that I have your recipe Grands and I can give it a go. Okay...so I've had vanilla ice cream with a lovely rose wine (like a pink moscato) mixed in and it was awesome! The wine (what ever is your favorite) flavor is enhanced by the vanilla creaminess of the ice cream and it is a one-of-a-kind treat...great for those brunches or dinner parties! I hope you'll try it and let us all know how you like it. Growing up my parents allowed us kids to mix in liquors or just about any hard liquors to vanilla ice cream and it really is a treat!

    • @WelcomeToMyCurls
      @WelcomeToMyCurls  15 годин тому +2

      Hi! Sure.....here's my recipe suggestion: When you put the warm ice cream into the mixing bowl and add vanilla, also add 2 Tbsp of maple syrup. Then when the ice cream is churning, add crushed black walnuts. This will incorporate both flavors into the ice cream itself. Then when layering the ice cream into the insulated tub, add a little drizzle of maple syrup and a bit more crushed black walnut (kind of like I did with the peanut butter brown recipe). Top it with crushed black walnuts for looks. Sounds delish!

    My my, all those flavors sound so good. We grew up on peach ice cream Papa used to make it with peaches off our backyard tree. Putting in carmel and graham crackers sounds wonderfully decant. How do the delicate graham crackers stay crisp vs soggy? Does the batter get that cold as it is mixing? Yum Yummy. Thank you Renee. Loved the video😊

    • @WelcomeToMyCurls
      @WelcomeToMyCurls  3 години тому

      The batter gets very cold when it's churning. By adding the graham crackers at the end into cold ice cream instead into it during the warm liquid stage, the crackers stay crisp.

    Wow. Way too complicated for me. I can open a can with the best of them, but after that my kitchen skills are sorely lacking, I'm afraid. That's why I seldom cook (I don't enjoy it and I don't do it well---do I not enjoy because I don't do it well or do I not do it well because I don't enjoy it?). When I do cook, I think I deserve the Medal of Honor when what I create is edible (forget "it tastes good"). I really admire people who are skilled at cooking.

      At my ice cream shop, we used coconut milk for a non-dairy version of our flavors. It doesn't get thick and creamy like dairy so I'm not sure how it would churn in the ice cream maker. If you give it a try...let me know how it turns out please!

      Well if it’s lactose intolerance… go for lactose free milk and cream. Maybe you could make the custard with free lactose high content milk. If it’s an allergy… I’m not sure 😅.
      My daughters (three out of four 😮) are lactose intolerant. I use lactose free everything. It’s tiring but no 💩 problems, lol 😝 that way. When I explain that I use cheddar cheese to make pizza… people look at me funny. But we don’t have a choice! And it’s not that bad….Or homemade pesto also with free lactose cheese… lol
      From pizza to deserts etc . Good luck!! 🤞
