"I Walk The Line" is the last song in the album. A song that starts with sirens and a frantic feel. It’s the final song, and it’s freedom. It’s finally having escaped the Badlands which is reflected through the smooth piano and bass that rules the song.

Fun fact about this song for those who don’t know Johnny: he wrote this as a tribute to his first wife as a commitment to be faithful to her while he was on the road. Very sweet song, not personally sure how I feel about this version sounding this dark, but I’m happy it’s introduced people to new music, both new and old!!
You left out the ironic part of it where his 1st wife divorced him due to his drug/alcohol addictions and his adultery while on tour. Funny enough, he met his 2nd wife(June Carter) while on tour which ruins the purpose for 'I Walk The Line'.

Why in the holy hell would you want to listen to another person do the exact same thing to a song, especially like this one? And if she did do it that way, if she covered it the way a lot of people are saying she should have (same genre as JC), guess what? It still wouldn’t have been good enough to many. Covers, when coming from a place of admiration as this one is, aren’t meant to be better than the original. They’re just supposed to be a different sound and perspective and maybe even alter the story slightly. Just as with people reading the poems of others, the tone will change and it will feel different to the speaker than it did to the writer.
And if you don’t like it then why are you here?
Johnny Cash covered a Nine Inch Nails song so well people forget it isn't his- and it's in a completely different style than the original. Covers shouldn't be beat-for-beat

I won't deny she sounds like a good singer, but Johnny Cash sang this better. And when Johnny Cash covered someone's song. It was either taken two ways. 1) "Oh crap he's doing my song. He's going to do it better than me." or 2) "Nice, a true legend is singing my song. I must be doing alright."
Because Johnny Cash sang the song "Hurt." and the original maker said that it's Johnny Cash's song now. He said Johnny did it a lot better than himself so he just gave the song to Cash. Johnny was a true legend and the Man in Black. I'm kind of biased, but I mean the truth when I say that Johnny Cash's version will always be better.

Me personally, I love seeing how a very old country artist giving inspiration to a very unlikely fan in a very very different genre.
