That was a classic show I remember growing up watching that even though I was a kid. The roc showed a black man can be a positive leader in his community while being committed to only his wife. They don't make shows like that anymore and shows that have meaning in different episodes

I get what Clifton is saying. He’s discerning between “F****** your way up” vs. Putting yourself on/in position. The former requires sex, where the latter doesn’t.

I used to date a chick who did that, she started working at this plant and started messing around with her supervisor and got a lead position after less than a month, we started dating after that.
Every job I have ever worked in my life was like as you explained. Why would I think Hollywood would be any different?🙂

Clifton Powell is telling the truth of Hollywood. He was correct the females date and marry higher ups to get a head. Dating or marrying a director during the black and white movies days was the way to get ahead.
Sleeping to the top in a non Hollywood is came be much easier. The women can blackmail the executives and their boss once they had sex.
1st Banks didn't fu*k her way to nothing. Banks was a Super Model and models dated and marry directors and Rock Stars.
Monroe wanted to be a drama actress. The Hollywood higher ups know that her males base didn't want their sex symbol to leave her role to do drama. Monroe wanted to be married and start a family. All of her husband's couldn't handle her spotlight, which Monroe couldn't understand. They knew who she was and how she lived.
