- This week we’re in Will’s neck of the woods: Brixton! Bringing you some of our fave things to eat for under £9.
Realise this is our first film for a while…. we’ve been busy filming future episodes, crying over the World Cup and editing the RickShaw run, so thank you for your patience!
Brixton is just a very special place with a ridiculous variety of places to eat from with restaurants and shops that have been there for 50 years to young pretenders who have moved in over the last 6 to 7 years.
We actually filmed episode over the last 18 months or so (check out the continuity of Jesse's haircuts) - some of the places we featured were actually so good they shut down since we filmed them - so this episode is a little shorter than planned.
Below are the places we visited and the items we loved:

Thin slice pork belly okonomiyaki £8.00

Ham, mushroom, ricotta & pesto calzone £5 for a small
We know we could have filled up a feature length episode with Brixton’s Cheap Eats, and we’ll definitely be back for seconds, so please let us know your cheap eats in the comments for the follow up.

Did you not think to actually feature one of the Caribbean restaurants In brixton?? Literally gone to an area of London with the highest Jamaican community but only picked places that came alongside the gentrification of the area....good one guys :(
I think they're showing us what else brixton has to offer as its already famous for its Jamaican influence!
Brixton is not Jamaica anymore, that's been the case for a few years now. LAMBETH COUNCIL moved alot of people to Croydon. LAMBETH COUNCIL and GENTRIFICATION changed Brixton forever.

Was there with my family a few weeks ago. The Joint has one of the best fried chicken sandwiches we've ever had. Totally recommend it. There's another great spot in Brixton village called Fish Wings and Tings. Amazing jerk chicken and goat curry! Brixton is such an amazing and vibrant area to walk around in London.

@Equinox 95 Ridiculous. I typed in the word Brixton in UA-cam search, (And Google) couldn't help but notice the usual negatives, like "Gangs" "Riots" "Crime" The same with Moss Side Manchester all the usual negatives for the black areas.
I'm coming over from NY for the 1st time in a year to visit fam....There better be some Jamaican spots left over there....

Brixton use to be my local haunt, as a black person I always felt comfortable here, but it's funny how people can have preconceived ideas about a place and the people who live there, for example I once mentioned to some white co-workers the idea of going to Brixton for a meal and drinks one of them was so nervous at the idea of going to Brixton he suggested waiting in his car with the engine running (True) and on the flip side of people with preconceived notions another time me as a Caribbean born black man doing my weekly shopping minding my own business I choose a bunch of green bananas with the idea of adding them to my Saturday soup, when two young black British girls standing next to me one had the cheek to say in her half cockney fake Jamaican patois "Wah him know bout Green bananas? him are look to cook them with korn flakes" we both ended up giving each other eye to eye evil looks. True stories.
