30 lunar chests in and I still think these bosses are excellent. I do think the blue moon has the issue that there’s too much waiting around though.
It would be nice if there was less waiting during the Blue Moon, I agree
I feel like the fights could be more engaging. Blue moon specials put me to sleep. Eclipse spec where you still damage the boss is cool. Idk. I feel like its a shame that the boss is just stand on this spot and attack. And the specials dont give you an opportunity to really gain something for the most part, most of them are just stalling the fight. It would make more sense if the specials flipped the stand here and attack script, and let your management of the special attack reward you with speeding up the boss, like the one eclipse special. Its such a cool area, I wish I enjoyed it more.
Maybe im being negative nancy idk. Theres always something else to do in the game. Maybe for the intended audience it is perfect.
I think it's an intended audience thing. Most of the specials do offer some skill expression, though. I wish you could deal damage in more of them but a big theme in moons bosses is avoiding damage as a way to speed up the fight. Having to eat in main phase significantly lowers your dps and tanking adds the stacking debuff for each boss. I wish you deal damage in more of the specials but I think they're designed quite well.
for the eclipse moon special where you have to face the boss, its easier to click when the new one appears than to try to react to the exp drops.
^^This right here. If you click as soon as the clone appears you will hit all 3 everytime.
OSRS noob here, I just did this quest and really liked the fights, considering farming these for some mid-game PvM, thanks for the content!
45 chests deep now with 4 drops. 2 blood moon peices also so money :)

You can get two extra hits in after the special attacks if you klick the boss as soon as you can. For example after the storm face for the blue moon, if you hover your mouse over the boss you can hit it 2 times before it attacks you. Same goes for the blood after the rain spec if you stand on the correct tile you also get two extra hits in.
