If you like learning more ball, you’ll love my Football Foundations guide. It teaches you football at the NFL level as it is taught in the meeting rooms. 💯 thedimelab.com/products/foundations-guide
No offense man but 1. Henry is a clown who abuses glitches and lacks skill. 2. Doubke mug is hilariously awful. You run mid blitz for example against rpo and you’re giving up a TD. 3. Using cheese teams and plays to then try and say “see you can be good at defense” makes you look like a moron.
Would love to see your breakdown of defense as you play offense for longer times in a systematic fashion. Second the how to design a playbook, what audibles to have as Cover 2 v 3 v 4 beaters, Man v Zone beaters etc. Would love long form content that goes deeper because you’re great at breaking things down!
I know this sounds crazy, but I would love to see an NCAA game between Kurt Benkert and Cam Newton on NCAA 25. Two former NFL QBs duking it out on a videogame would be wild! Thanks for the videos Kurt, you are doing an amazing job.
Appreciate another banger! Also you can individually adjust coverage for everyone on defense without scrolling off your user. Left twice on D-pad to bring up coverage adjustments for D-line and pick whoever to put in zone or man. Right twice on D-pad for LB coverage adjustments. And double tap triangle/Y for secondary coverage adjustments. Basically hot routes for everyone on defense. Hope this helps. Thanks again Kurt.
For those who was wondering like I was myself yes you can change the playbooks on Play Now mode idk about Dynasty but maybe you can there also. When you select your team go to Team Settings you can do it there when you're done go back and click on Ready
As long as you know route concepts and when to use them all you need to do is just start labbing in formations that interest you. I’ve been having success running my own UNLV scheme. Takes time, and patience.
I saw your previous videos about double mug. I tried running it, but was struggling. This video was amazing! I didn't realize you pulled your LBs back from time to time. And, there's a lot of other adjustments your making I need to try to understand better. So helpful though man. Thank you!!
I love your progression with these videos. I just shared this with muh Discord peeps with the caveat that you're assuming at this point they know how to make the adjusts you're calling out. Great stuff. There are so many options that "analysis paralysis" is def a thing. Showing how you streamline it to a manageable handful of options is great! THX!
I’ve also found that in the Multiple Defense playbook, the 5-2 defense is beautiful against someone you know like to run or plays in Pistol formation🤷🏾♂️
been trying to tell my buddies about 3-3 double mug and stack and they won’t listen cause of how goofy the box looks lmao. best defense in the game by far imo. brilliant explanation of how to manipulate it.
@@ChizzDaDon yessir I wasn’t going to say it but yes. A few depth chart tweaks and they are TUFF. I put him in the slot for blitzing and covering slot corner routes. Dude is nasty.
@CadillacBoss30 damn that was with madden, the fans really dont deserve a sim or good football game lmao, but frfr its these young mfs whos first madden and 16 and up and love cheesin the game smh
@CadillacBoss30 what madden was that btw, cuz i been barely playin new maddens unless its a franchise mode with my homeboy for a few weeks each year then never touch it again
Why are u complaining when u just admitted u barely play the new maddens outside of for a couple of weeks then never again , having a good user is skill gap not cheese lmao
I’m not kidding. This defense IS BOMB! I suck at Madden/CFB 25 in general. But with this defense I won B1G championship against Oregon Ducks with my Penn State team in dynasty mode 27-14 It’s crazy. I scored a BUNCH against other teams on defense. I was getting pick sixes LEFT, RIGHT, and CENTER! 😮 All this in All-American mode. Kurt might’ve just helped me up-level my game and move to Heismann mode 😎😎
Every year blitzing and making your opponent make quick reads is always the best defense. I usually use big nickel but I’ll incorporate this formation too
Blitzing doesn't work this year because man coverage is broken, you'll get burned everytime. The only way you can make it work if you are a REALLY good user
@@MrJohansen i prefer needing to have a good user over the CPU running routes for the offense and getting free stops. Makes you have to actually decide what to use and to give up. Then it makes your opponent make the right read. I forget which madden it was made 23 or 22 but man was unbearable. Only way to beat it consistently was short out elite, it wasn’t fun imo.
Not video related Kurt, but do you think in a coming update we will ever be able to pick Bristol Motor Speedway as a stadium option if you play as VA Tech and Tennessee to recreate that matchup? I just think it’d be a cool detail to add in the battle at Bristol
I’ve won 9 straight using something similar to this. Made some roster adjustments to Oregon good lord. They have some gems on the bench and I’ll leave that at that.
What adjustment was being made when u called “outside leverage?” Is it the secondary shading outside, where u can select underneath, over the top, etc etc?
You gotta give the ultimate guid in how to put in motion custom stems and more, cuz I know what your talking about out but I don’t know the buttons. IM A NOVICE MANE.
Not the thumbnail of Shaq Quarterman laying the wood 😂😂 Anyways as a noob who hasn’t played a football in a decade I have no clue what buttons you’re pressing pre snap lol
I like your content #1. #2 I would love you see you break down film after you play the game. Like take some plays for the talking points your are trying to explain and play it back frame by frame kinda like a real coach session explain why you did xyz then watch it play out. TO be honest some of your vids just turn into highlight tapes which is cool. but to get that other angle that you are missing i think that would be the move to do. Maybe go into practice mode and doctor up a few plays as an example in a more controlled environment for reps to explain. You can do alot in practice mode for the viewers to learn from.
I don't think fast enough to make that many adjustments before the snap. 😅 I get the impression you kind of default to outside leverage most of the time, I'll try to incorporate that more. I've had good luck controlling the running game with line shifts and guarding against the cutback myself. Biggest problem I face is overtop coverage in C2 or C4 getting burned down the middle at the ends of halves, which I feel shouldn't be a thing that happens quite so often, lol.
Love your vids man. Ill say this defense is good, I've seen people using it online a lot. I normally run first (I know it's not the cool way to win). I know how to double team and identify the Mike so I've been cooking this defense on the ground game. I don't use Ohio State either. 😆
My problem is I'm not quick enough to make all of these pre-snap adjustments on D even if I recognize what needs to be done. The # of times I'm caught trying to switch players as they snap the ball and I end up totally out of place is maddening.
I'm not sure how to get better as a user defensively. Whenever I try to play these types of defenses I usually cause big plays with user error. Play more obviously, but it would be nice to have a heuristic to begin learning the nuance of the user that can find some success
I love your football mind bro . I want to become better . Can you please share what buttons you press presnap ? I’m an old head 😫 seems like a pretty simple setup
Can you do some vids with a non-OP D? It’d be fine if it were against CPU, which doesn’t allow quite that much time to shift alignment + coverage. Edit: he’s a quick-snapper. 15s ticked off the play clock. 😂
Have you tried the 3-3-5 mint/penny tampa 3? If you know they may run, use the 3-3-5 mint tampa 2. Adjust slot cb to deep mid, adjust both outside cbs to deep third (make sure on the correct side) and user the middle lb. It breaks the cpu. If they are in 100% situations, run the penny and repeat the same steps. Even on heisman, I'm getting 5 ints a game.
3i coverage isn’t as good in this game as in Madden. You’re better off running cover 3 match. Wider hash marks mean more field to work with and I find often the deep outside 3rds don’t get to the wide side sideline fast enough.
What is the reasoning for going inside vs outside leverage on db’s? I’m trying this out and I’m finding I’m spreading my lb’s and leveraging my dbs but have no understanding of using it situationally lol

Oregon has a 94 speed LB to use for those sub packages. Bro is a cheat code

Great idea to work with Henry, I thought last year you should have worked with the pros since you actually know ball. Your user looks tough, good job.
I doubled back to the gem 💎 Kurt you got my defense A1 I’m forever grateful 🙏🏽
Ngl i hate how in ea football games, users can run back and forth and not get penalized for changing direction and covering multiple routes i hate it
