- This is one of my favorite songs, The Ballad of the Wind Fish from the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. One of the many great songs composed by Kazumi Totaka. Thanks a lot to Adella from Adellacosplay.com/DeviantArt.com for the beautiful artwork titled Never Forget... Enjoi!
Link's awakening (DX) was my first ever video game. While playing...I foolishly believed that Link would take Marin with him and they would live happily ever after.....Damn you nintendo, You gave me my first heartbreak.
there is a way of getting Marin to survive, beat the game without dying
@@QueenSabrina335 so basically they make children who get game overs sad and mature people who beat the game without dying satisfied... I really hope this gets fixed in the remake.
😭😭 It was my very first game as well, and you just reminded me of my first crush/love, Marin. Her disappearing forever, never to have existed at all, left a hole in my soul! I must have repressed it, but now it's coming back. MARIIIIIIN!
Just HAD to come to this after the 2019 remake announcement! Greatest song of all time!
What do you think of the art style of it? I'm not sure how well it fits with the melancholy of the game but I can't wait to play it
@@0121zero I personally love it, also I never finished links awakening I got to the catfish maw then put it on pause and havent played in five years xd, so it's partially blind aswell which makes me even more hyped to get my hands on it
@@0121zero i think art style fits for the first part of the game but it would be awesome if the art style got darker and darker as you progress and imagine if the music builds up too like in A Link Between Worlds
Ah, the sound of a childhood well spent...
its strange, i normally have a terrible memory when it comes to music, but this one song... ive remembered and will remember for the rest of my life...
try listening to tal tal heights, it is from this same game. and believe me... I REALLY LOVE THIS SONG!!! I
@@codyhudspeth9495 me to im mega fan of all zelda games
i can never forget this song or this game. it is the 1st zelda game that didn't exactly have a happy ending. everyone fades away never to be seen again they only exist as a dream and a fading memory. this song is very beautiful
Like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. And Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Guuuh why did I have to handle such sad endings as a kid.
Not to mention Ocarina of Time. Having time rewinded in the end and everyone not knowing anything about what happened 7 years later.... aaah it's loneliness enough to drive a man insane.
well not all adventures have a true happy ending not every hero gets the girl in the end
man even after all of these years i still havent forgotten Marin or this song i played the original on the gameboy back in the 90's and i fell in love with it. i hope the switch remake can make me feel the same way
This remix made this my favorite Zelda song of all time it's so amazing
When I soon realized that when the Windfish awakes, every inhabitant would dissappear, I was like: "Wait- *What!??!* *NINTENDO?* *REALLY*"
I KNOW RIGHT
So we basically just killed everyone in the end
LemonyFrost
We did ; and Link was happily smiling when he woke up. What even.
blara2401 I knoW
+LemonyFrost This is a really late comment, but I suppose he was happy because of the time he spent with Marin and the other inhabitants of the island.
Mmmcookies Kiser And maybe because of the fact that he's back to reality. But I personally would be devastated
i dont hink i've ever even gotten to the first dungeon of this game, but damn this song is glorious. Hits me right in the feels.
i hear ya... :'(
I feel like the ghost when you bring him to his old house "Nostalgia..."
I've been looking for this version EVERYWHERE! Thank you for putting it up!
Please play this at my funeral, im not joking.
Eclipsed Lovers Same, I want this played at my funeral as well!
Yes, but... what about the other 11 songs I already...?
When our generation dies I think there's going to be very long funerals, with all the awesome music we just need to play for the final goodbye T_T
you know that chill you get when all the good memeories of you childhood rushes back from one song???
12 years later I’m still listening to this song.
my first ever Legend of Zelda game. I havn't played this in over 10 years...yet I had found myself humming this beautiful song today..
how can anyone possibly dislike this? even if you haven't played the game, this song still holds so much meaning... 16 people have either never beaten the game or not even played it, and therefore don't understand the significance of this song.
i am so indescribably proud to see my fellow zelda fans supporting and encouraging each other through tough times. this is the most wonderful music and hope that it continues to have such influence through hard times.
i am also sorry, infuhr, to hear about your friend. i also recieved some bad news recently, though not in the sphere of what you and your friend's family must be experiencing.
i can only say that they now become a part of you, and that they live as long as you remember them.
Part of a childhood that will never go away. That y these games r amazing! They can do that to people and bring back all the emotions that comes with all of the memories..
By far my favourite Zelda game. Getting the instruments and listening to the ballad was the greatest part. Even the items were amazing!
This beats techno, this beats metal, this beats pop, this beats MUSIC. This is Magic!
And R.I.P. Jason .
Two things are for sure. none of us will ever forget this song. And I will never be able to listen to any version of this without crying. Love this so much! :'3
Link's Awakening was the first video game I ever played and I still play it. This song has always been special with me, ever since I heard the first chord and it will always be one of my favorite songs.
Beautiful doesn't begin to explain how powerful or amazing this piece is.
But I agree, this song is beautiful.
Sometimes I have nightmares about the future of gaming, Zelda is one of the few series that has never disappointed me.
This song/game literally gives me the chills every time I hear/play it.
Always makes me cry.. Please extend this!
because through out the game you create a bond with the characters on the island & find out that none of them are real including the character that really likes you, Marin. You are stuck in the windfish's dream your duty is to collect the 8 instruments on the island & play this song which will wake the windfish & when the it awakes the island and it's inhabitants all disappear, the children the animals everyone. Marin was the only one who knew that they all were just illusions in a dream world.
I love the song and the pic.
Good job, and pass my thanks on to Adella
I just had to listen to this after finding out there's going to be a remake. Love this song. Can't wait to hear it in the game
The end of this game is one of the only times I ever considered a video game to be beautiful.
We don't need a remake. This game is already on the Nintendo eShop. A remake of this game isn't necessary. I have it, and I love it just the way it is. It has one of the best Zelda stories, and it is probably the most mature, despite it being a GBC game. It's incredibly fun, and the ending is the most bittersweet Zelda ending ever, next to Ocarina of Time. Oh, and The Ballad of the Wind Fish might be the greatest Zelda song of all time.
That quote. "Please don't ever forget this song... or me..."
All my fucking feels.
...This song Brings back so Many Memories...Than you OMG Thank you puts tears to my eyes Classic games just bring more to the table than the new age games
ya you get better graphic's but... you loose over all the core of Game's. Thank you so much for making this video
This is my single reminder to why I don't throw away my old GameBoy's, GameBoy Pocket and/or my GameBoyColor.....
This song has made me repair aforementioned consoles again and again and I'll probably be repairing them 'till the end of time.
I cried like a baby at the ending of this game. Yes Link saves the day but at what cost everything you love just fades away.
This sound has made me cry and I'm not kidding. So nice
Is it wrong that every time I play this game I deliberately avoid finishing it, so that I can pretend Koholint never vanished? :(
I do the same :|
I love this so much.. I used to listen to it for hours on end, it's so beautifull, I'd love it if someone made a newer version of it.
This song is making me tear up even though I've never played Link's Awakening. I really should, it's one of the few Zelda games I haven't played yet.
Wow one of the best games Ive played, I remember I was on a 3 day trip moving to my new home, and I had purchased this game to play it on the go, I had only a gameboy pocket and I had to play during day because it had no light, a soon as we got to my new house i finished the game, it kept me alive during boredom, thank you Nintendo for such wonderful game
It is so hard to get my gf into these games. Little does she know that the story is better than anything you could watch on tv, and you are the hero!
Legendary. The old gen games should never be forgotten. Not only do they have the best soundtracks/plot, they inspired us, they pushed us to try daring things in the industry. Today, games are just remakes of older versions with updated graphics. What happened to trying new things? The fear of not making a huge profit. Bring it back on track! If you want to remake something, make it Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! The most influential game ever released. Show these ignorant kids how we played!
I don't care if this sounds morbid but I want this song playing at my funeral...
The song sounds so sad and peaceful at the same time. I love it.
It's amazing what the devs could do with an 8bit handheld like the GBC. It's literally been years since I played this, but I will always remember this tune and this amazing game, which captivated me as a child and burned an eternal memory deep into by mind. Not many games can do this, even with all those visuals and production values of the modern era.
The only song that can consistently bring me to tears every time I hear it.
So psyched for the remake!
took me so long to find this video again.
This is amazing. A real tear jerker for some people... I feel like a nerd.
i don't know why but this song ALWAYS puts me in a trance ,,,,,,,,so sad and peaceful........
Ah, the 'Like' button cannot be hit enough times. I'm going to go write a poem for my lady now, it's her birthday today. This song just does it to me.
The most underrated Zelda game of all time. It definitely deserves to be among the top in rankings of the best Zelda games ever made. I wish they'd make a remake of this game for a home console. It would be amazing to have beautiful music like this combined with the graphics from the Twilight Princess or something. But whatever happens, the classic Gameboy version is amazing.
This needs to be longer. Not just me wanting it, this NEEDS to be an hour long at LEAST.
Beautiful work with the MIDI file there :)
Zelda has amazing characterization! Each character has their own type of personality and that's what makes it such and amazing game. Not only that but it connects to a lot of people and its a
This is very good and love the picture.
this song always hit me right in the feels
when people ask me why i play the legend of zelda. i play this song for them and say: because zelda may not be a fps game but it have beautiful music, fantastic story, lovely characters and when you play zelda and you come to a moment like this music, you feel so... happy, sad and peaceful.
god this brings back memories. i've had this MIDI since like 2001.
The thing is this game is underated. I'm just about to cry for this video.
Bought this game when it released, i was so young but took me years to finish love it so much.
brings back so many good memories!
my nerdy game odyssey started as a 6yo boy. with a game boy. and yeah, zelda, links awakening, since then, the ballad of the windfish comes first to my mind when thinking of zelda, link and nintendo. nothing has ever and will ever capture me like this melody. i come back from time to time just to listen to this wonderful piece while thinking of the picture, when u first summon all the 8 insturments and the windwish wakes...
You must be real happy now
The picture is VERY good.
Very poignant. The scenery, the expressions, and especially the quote...
skirt?
I get what you are saying--yeah the petal-like folds(it's usually straight) of the tunic plus the long skinny legs make it look like a mini-skirt. Yeah, if I were to remove one aspect of this picture, it would be to redesign the tunic.
I had this game when I was younger, and unfortunately I lost it :'(
But, a couple days ago, as I was looking on the eShop for the 3DS, I saw this and completely spazzed out. I was just so freakin' happy
I have this Zelda game on gameboy. The gameboy games are often underrated. This is one of the best in the series according to me, and the ballad is so beautiful... A great song in a great game!
For some reason, when ever I hear this version of the song, I imagine Link and Zelda dancing together. Link and Zelda, holding hands, as Link twirls her around (and doesn't step on her toes). This will be playing as me and my future husband dance at the reception.
This brings back so many memories when I played this... :,(
I am a part of N64 and Snes generation, and I can´t appreciate enough for my dad and my mom to play the old Zelda and the old Mario along with me.
I always fealt this was the most under rated song in the series
when ppl talk about LoZ music, most will jump straight to OoT
this is one of my absolute favs in the LoZ series
when i was a kid i cried after finishing the game ... now its the first time i hear that sound since then. i am 27 ... kinda strange feeling. its like you wanna be a child again. damn... im sad now^^
0_0 You've got a long journey ahead of you bro
This song is so simple and beautiful.
Oh i got this 10 years ago, I just revisited it, I finally finished it.... (one of those games I could never finish as a child)
i play this game and a link to the past every year... i'm 30 and i still own the DX version of this game that i play on my gamecube. no matter how old i get this game still the top 5 of all time!
Memories straight to the face
Promise me to all your lovely people who are reading this never forget this song.
I never forgot the song... and it still makes me cry...
Oh man... I broke my promise and forgot for YEARS... but I remember now. Thank you.
So I made this fan fiction where Link died and I had a character go to Telma's Bar with a laptop (character is a time traveler and everyone at the bar got used to the modern tech) and play this song. This song was played at his funeral and made almost everyone cry. As I wrote it, it made me cry too. I've never played the game but it just goes to show how touching zelda music can really be.
Aaww man :') beautiful song. Love this game.
Juan Hernandez I love this game too. the song reminds me of my friend Manuel
laura salas OMG 😂😂😄😄😄 you remembered! Lol Is that so? I think I know Manuel too😂😂
Juan Hernandez oh really? i dont think its the same manuel though
laura salas no trust me...its the same Manuel 😂😂😁😄
Awesome game idea! Link meets her in another of his incarnations
I cried so much at the end :'C and this song makes me feel kind of sad and nostalgic
I am going to try and tab this for my ocarina!
say what you will about the other games, and their music, but this always gets me.
The caption of the piction mamkes the music even sadder than it already is...
I replayed this on the 3DS VC, I didn't remember it was THAT good of a Zelda and THAT good of a game.
I've saw the first coment in the page, and my best friend had just died:)
Gosh, I'm crying, this song is helping me a lot...!
@infuhr This song made me sad, but helped a lot. My grandmother died a week ago, and this song makes me think about the good times I had with her.
Thank you very much for this great video. :,)
I hate you so much rn. I read the words at bottom of screen and I cried. The feels
god its been so long since I've played this.
I think i'm going to cry
@Zach1992B As an older gamer, just wanted to say thanks. You're part of what keeps the classics alive. Make your kids play them, and your grandkids, because I don't want to wind up doing let's plays in my sixties because nobody else can remember what these games were like.
For some reason, when I hear this version of the song, I always imagine Link and Zelda dancing together. Link and Zelda holding hands, as Link twirls her around (and doesn't step on her toes), it is such a beautiful song!
wow this is magic
Oh god...my feels....I remember this...
If this should ever re-appear in a future LoZ game - I am gonna have the nostalgasm of my life!!
this song gives me peace
I love how you remembered the. Seagul
Unfortunately, this was the only zelda game I ever owned in my entire life. Link's Awakening is a cornerstone in the zelda series. He's so awesome in that game with so many different abilities. I used to collect a few of the siren's instruments and go the egg just to hear this incredible song. It's beautiful.
This is one of the only Zelda song that can make me sleepy
I love Legend of Zelda. I wish I experienced it in its earlier years.
