yep garry ,,im sticking to the gpx 5000 as on the weekend i found a nice 5 ounce nugget fairly deep that i picked using the 15" mono coiltek coil,,i also picked up a 3 grammer,,my mate had a z and was a little fustrated as the ground noise was a little erratic so he backed of the sensitivity so he quiten down his z,while my 5000 was humming like a bird,,the z in some places work fine but you have to master it to quite them as its a bit chattery,,but for the money and heavy they are after a few hours use is annoying,,i believe garry the next minelab detector will be a beauty because theres too many mixed good and bad feedback on the Zs,,the next machine will be spot on ,,thx garry and all the best mate,,cheers
Hi. Thanks for your interest. In Western Australia, you need a basic miners permit which is cheap enough. Then there are areas where you can go without any other permission, there are also areas you can go with permission and there are areas you cant go also. You need to know where you are all of the time :)
Hi Gary I brought a second hand coin master 6/DB detector for $200 will it be capable of finding nuggets? Also I live in Benalla were would you suggest I try that's close to me I'm not asking for spots just areas I will work the rest out with time any help would be great thanks
Hi Pat, I am swapping between patch hunting with the gpx4500 and working around the known gold areas with the Gpz7000. I have been offered many and varied setting for it, they seem to be going ok at present. Cheers mate.
Lemme get this straight... you spend a whole day and find 24g of gold. The detector costs $10,400, gold price is $41.26 per gram. So you made $990. I'm assuming this is pretty much the jackpot of findings for a hobbiest. So is it really worth it and realistically, will you ever pay back the machine and get rich on it?
+Garry Irwin what I want to establish is if it is a realistic goal? In other words is it common for someone to fund their hobby like this or is it a lucky few?
Glen, Hi again, in Australia there are many hundreds if not into the thousands of people that pwn metal detectors, many, I would say, sit in the cupbords year round. However, there are also many retirees and "grey nomads" that hit the goldfields in the cooler months looking for gold, some do it totally for the fincial gains, some just to subsidise their travel costs and ohers just for the lifestyle and social interactions that the hobby brings. I agree with you, the current, top spec gold detectors are way overpriced, they almost doubled in price after the Australian company was sold to American interests. The people that purchase these ones generally do so because they already have substantial knowledge of locations of previous gold finds and therefore they can tecover the costs of their machines very quickly in some cases. cheers G.
It's rare Glen. I've owned my detector 4 years and still haven't found enough gold to pay it off. But its more the fun of getting out there, with the potential of finding a big one.
overpriced dinosaur,,forget it,,in salty and very high minerlised grounds is terrible,,the 5000 is heaps more stable,,i could keep going but i will be here all day,,,

Hi Glen,
Thanks for watching.
Not many hobbies have the potential for funding themselves, this is one that can.
Cheers G.

Надо к ним ехать у нас закон не даёт такой возможности. В аппарате сомнений нет он хорош.
