Because This Is My First Life is a masterpiece! It is well-written and the characters were brilliantly portrayed by the main and supporting actors. I have lost count of how many times I have rewatched this series. I am so happy that it's still on Netflix. I hope more international viewers discover this very special Kdrama. This Kdrama taught me so much about Korean cultures, traditions, relationships, trust, communication, forgiveness and love. This Kdrama deserves to stay on Netflix forever.
I felt so bad when it was announced to be removed from Netflix in my country but lucky me that they didn’t deleted it and I can rewatch it again and again. I have no idea of what’s your taste in dramas but I would like to recommend ’One spring night’, I promise you will not be disappointed. ㅠㅠ
I know this drama wasn't super popular and people complained it is slow, in fact when it aired it's ratings were only about 4% and during that year, the biggest shows were the flashy fast-paced ones like Goblin.... but trust me when I say this show is a gem. As someone who hates the slice of life genre and usually cannot finish past a few eps, I found myself anticipating the next episode for this one. I originally stumbled on the first ep from curiousity because I love Jung So Min and everything she has been on, and I am so glad I gave this one a chance. Very well written, very rare to see a drama with such tight scripts that make you think and reflect and question norms and traditions.
Hi. This drama was aired on tvN, a cable channel in Korea. Actually, a 4% rating on cable TV is already considered high, considering that you have to pay just to watch shows on the network. Thus, this drama is actually a hit in the country 😉

I really didn't like Goblin and I felt like it was overrated. But then someone recommended this drama to me and I really loved it! Good thing I found this gem! Huhu it's underrated compared to other KDramas and the ost are soooo good!
I just finished watching it and boy is it a good one! I’ve watched lots of dramas but this one is really at the top of my list. It doesn’t have the usual loud type of girl with a very reserved guy. Both characters were realistic and had GREAT chemistry. I say that because I’m one who easily gets awkward by long pauses. In this drama however, I could see both of them actually being a couple. The characters complemented each other and the development of characters really made sense. I initially wondered how the story could progress with such normal personalities with normal life goals. I didn’t have to worry at all. Everything seemed natural. There came a point in time when I was actually thinking that maybe the story is real and I’d like to keep thinking that. Anyway, this is probably one of the longest comments I’m leaving here on UA-cam. Just because I want more people to watch this and see how good the storyline is. I loved not just the main characters but even the side characters! I can’t get enough of this drama. I’m rewatching this as soon as I have the time.

This drama contains a lot more moral values than a whole year dramas combined I think.. It talks about almost everything about life. About being a child, a sister, a brother, a parent, an in law, a friend, a partner, a lover, a wife, a husband, an entrepreneur, a worker, a leader, a dreamer, a woman, a man, an individual, a human.
This made me feel like i was reading a book instead of watching a drama. Its plot is minimalist and non-conformist but the story treatment is so rich. Cat is awfully cute. OST gives me the feels and the 'think'. My GOAT so far, along with Reply 1988.
This is the only drama where I cried over the side character’s story. Every character in this drama has dimensions and it’s so real it hurts. P.S. The cat is a bonus.
제 인생드라마 탑 리스트에 듭니다.. 개인적으로 끝까지 다 본 드라마가 많이 없는데, 마지막화를 다시 돌려봤을 정도로 마무리까지 재미랑 완성도를 유지한 드라마였어요😭 진짜 여운도 엄청 남고.. 주조연 캐릭터들도 모두 매력있고 서브 주연들 스토리도 곁가지라는 느낌보다는 또 다른 인생을 보여주는 느낌이라 루즈하지 않고 잘봤어요.. 배우분들 또 뭉칠 기회가 있었으면 좋겠네요😭
Lee Min Ki may not be a Hallyu star but he is actually very famous in Korea and a lot of actors look up to him. He is a legend. Also his visual is very appealing to Koreans. Personally, I am crushing on him because he is so manly, shy but at the same time oozing with charisma. His acting is also very good like I cannot think of any other actors to play this role. You must watch him in Spellbound, Tidal Wave, Shut Up Flower Boy Band and never see a single hint of See Hee in those characters. That is how versatile he is.
If you watched My Liberation Notes, his character is also completely different from Se-hee. For me that's his best role so far. Nam Se-hee will always be my favorite character that he played in Korean dramas.

Yeah i think he's famous because he was more of a movie star than a drama actor. In Movies like Monster, For the emperor, very ordinary couple he was really very different from Se Hee. He was perfectly playing psycho, angry, arrogant characters and so good in action too. I sort of knew the name Lee Min Ki even before I watched any of his work. I'm glad I started watching his works after awhile, he's such a great actor
This is actually my #1 fave kdrama ever! I literally watched it for about 10x now. It's so refreshing, I still watch it until now. The script is superb. You'll get a lot of qoutes about love, life, dreams, friendship, marriage etc. This is not your typical korean drama.
Totally agree with you, this drama gives us good lessons on love and marriage. Compatibility creates a room in Sehee's heart, allowing him to love again.
Me too!! This will be my favorite K-drama because of all the life lessons and realistic scenes. I find myself re-watching this over and over again. Plus all the soundtracks here were so great and catchy!!! The OST clearly depicts what each character are going through. :)
Alert UNDERRATED DRAMA CAUGHT This drama is just so beautiful at the beginning you mainly like it because of the characters and their stories and different problems but when you arrive to ep 11 YOU STAN THIS DRAMA MORE AND MORE CAUSE YOU REALIZE EVEN THE ROMANTIC SIDE IS PERFECT I hope there aren't really just 2 episodes left cause it's not enough to see the story of See Hee and Ji Ho developping more

When I first watched this show 2 years back, I didnt understand the meaning behind episodes. Now I rewatched completeley 3days ago I understood the message the show is conveying. This made me forgot all the kdrama I have watched so far. This became my top of the list. What a beautiful show this is. If you dont like slice of life shows this may be boring for you. But if you like slice of life this will be one of your favourite kdrama.
I didn't want to watch this when it first aired bcoz I can't watched Jung Somin paired with other male co star bcoz I shipped her hard with her bf now her ex bf..but bcoz this drama airing again on TV so I decided to watch it,and ended up falling in love ..it was surprisingly great drama..there is no evil character here,evil parents in law,evil ex bf gf ..this drama is really close to our real life..I love how everyone portrayed their character especially Lee Minki..and how I love all 3 main couple chemistry..Sehee with Jiho,Soo Ji and Sang Goo and Wonseok and Horang..I love how real their character is..
I’m glad , you like my idol LMK after watching BTIMFL, indeed, he’s a very good actor. His portrayal being Se Hee cannot be done by other actors . I watched this drama because I am a fan of Lee Min Ki. He may not be in the league of known handsome korean actors but he has his own charisma and charm. I like his visual and shy countenance. He seemed to act so easily well. The drama seemed slow paced BUT it is a great one. Tells what real love and life is... the story and the cast are great. I now become a fan of Jung So-Min.
I feel Lee Min-Ki is showing his real personality in this drama, he is not falling in love quickly, but when he falls in love, he loves deeply! He is out of breath while he runs, but he does not give up because he concerns for her, I swear it is a real love!!!

I have watched and re-watched this drama ~5x. This is not the drama category where the leading man is 'pretty' but rather manly and the leading actress is 'dumb' from keeping true to her feelings. In a way, this made me realize and see perspective from different kind of relationships. The actor, Lee Min Ki nailed his interpretation of a 'broken' person. The poetic style of writing sticks to your heart and something that the audience would really ponder about. There are dramas that you enjoy watching because the actors were performing. This drama you enjoy an introspective view - analyzing yourself. It is slow paced because it is not meant just for you to watch, it is for you keep a closer view of one's heart and motives. I enjoyed it as much as I 'felt' each line delivered by the actors. I read a review that this drama is feminist, and somehow I agree. It did not portray women as doormat being but highlights women's different aspirations and dreams.
This drama isn't about just romance but it gives us a lesson in life and this the reality happening in life of marriage. You have to consider many things before tied up to someone.
I'm afraid I won't find another drama like this:( I swear it's painfully underrated and I just can't get it. The script, the soundtrack, the actors, everything is beautiful! I just finished this drama and i love it and i love it more especially this song. This drama is my cup of tea, my style because i like the slowness of the story (i am a slow-burn romance enthusiast) and how it is so relatable, not the marriage-contract part, but on the dreams every person have. That we should not give up on it even if there are a lot of hindrances on the way. I like also the personality of the main lead both jiho and seehee because there is freedom and respect for each other that they can still have their own space individually. There was no force and abuse between them. Their story is so magical like you can't have it in real life, but i just wish that God will send me my own sehee, that is calm, respectful, reserved, formal, sincere and a comfort person. I just love it so much (the drama) since i loved both the actor and the actress. It is so swoon worthy.
I just really miss this drama. I highly recommend this to everybody who are in relationship or even the youth. A lot of lessons we can get in the drama particularly about marriage. I learned that marriage is not about honeymoon or flaunting how happy you are with your partner. It really change my perception about marriage. The drama also openly widen my mindset about achieving your dreams.
I don't know why but this is one of my favorite drama to watch. I love the practicality of the leads and how realistic their mindsets are. I love how they the writer tries to show how women break the stereotypes of society esp in the work place. Even within the family. I love this show because its easy to watch and you just relate to it somehow.
Yeah, I finally watched it after so long. So many dramas I wanted to watch, but I just never had time, and I finish watching one yesterday. Am so glad I finally got to watch it. It just leaves a fluttering feeling in your heart, and makes you feel lonely af if you're single😅😅😅😅 but still, I loved it.
도입부랑 2절 시작할 때 가사가 너무 가슴에 와닿다못해 파고든다.. 어릴 적 꿈들이나 수많은 사진들 버킷리스트들 무의미한 종이조가리가 된 것만 같고.. 오늘만 버티면 내일은 달라지겠지하고 위로해도 또 똑같은 오늘이 반복되고.. 가사 진짜 잘 썼다. 노래도. 100점 만점에 1천점. 그리고 이번 생은 처음이라 드라마 넷플릭스로 2번 정주행했는데 인생이 뭔지 연애랑 결혼이 뭔지 정말 많은 생각을 하게하는 드라마라고 생각함.
Why did I just watch this gem for now? 😭 Promise, it is indeed one of the best kdramas you'll ever watch. It's not your cliché type romance drama but this is indeed a slice of life drama. ❤️❤️❤️
Just finished watching this dec 11, 2020. In just two days , i have learn so much and realized many things in my 25 yrs of life. It is not your typical drama. It is YOUR DRAMA. You can actually own it. The lines and dialogues are faves. No flashy cinematography or whatsoever but it will def touch your heart.
This drama is rare. Its like I'm reading in first person point of view. A book-like-drama that will make give you lessons about life and relationships. And this OST fit the series very well.

This made me feel like i was reading a book instead of watching a drama. Its plot is minimalist and non-conformist but the story treatment is so rich. Cat is awfully cute. OST gives me the feels and the 'think'. My GOAT so far, along with Reply 1988.

제 인생드라마 탑 리스트에 듭니다.. 개인적으로 끝까지 다 본 드라마가 많이 없는데, 마지막화를 다시 돌려봤을 정도로 마무리까지 재미랑 완성도를 유지한 드라마였어요😭
진짜 여운도 엄청 남고.. 주조연 캐릭터들도 모두 매력있고 서브 주연들 스토리도 곁가지라는 느낌보다는 또 다른 인생을 보여주는 느낌이라 루즈하지 않고 잘봤어요.. 배우분들 또 뭉칠 기회가 있었으면 좋겠네요😭

Lee Min Ki may not be a Hallyu star but he is actually very famous in Korea and a lot of actors look up to him. He is a legend. Also his visual is very appealing to Koreans. Personally, I am crushing on him because he is so manly, shy but at the same time oozing with charisma. His acting is also very good like I cannot think of any other actors to play this role. You must watch him in Spellbound, Tidal Wave, Shut Up Flower Boy Band and never see a single hint of See Hee in those characters. That is how versatile he is.
If you watched My Liberation Notes, his character is also completely different from Se-hee. For me that's his best role so far. Nam Se-hee will always be my favorite character that he played in Korean dramas.
You must watch "Fpr the Emperor " too her character there was so totally different like her other drama hahhaha
I think he is well rounded- romantic, arrogant, boss, gangster- amazing actor- must see emperor & beauty inside- you’ll see another side of him & be just amaze

Yeah i think he's famous because he was more of a movie star than a drama actor. In Movies like Monster, For the emperor, very ordinary couple he was really very different from Se Hee. He was perfectly playing psycho, angry, arrogant characters and so good in action too. I sort of knew the name Lee Min Ki even before I watched any of his work. I'm glad I started watching his works after awhile, he's such a great actor

This is actually my #1 fave kdrama ever! I literally watched it for about 10x now. It's so refreshing, I still watch it until now. The script is superb. You'll get a lot of qoutes about love, life, dreams, friendship, marriage etc. This is not your typical korean drama.
Totally agree with you, this drama gives us good lessons on love and marriage. Compatibility creates a room in Sehee's heart, allowing him to love again.

Me too!! This will be my favorite K-drama because of all the life lessons and realistic scenes. I find myself re-watching this over and over again. Plus all the soundtracks here were so great and catchy!!! The OST clearly depicts what each character are going through. :)

This drama is just so beautiful at the beginning you mainly like it because of the characters and their stories and different problems but when you arrive to ep 11 YOU STAN THIS DRAMA MORE AND MORE CAUSE YOU REALIZE EVEN THE ROMANTIC SIDE IS PERFECT

처음은 페북에서 우수님의 털털하고 멋있는모습이 나오는 영상을통해 이드라마를 접했는데 보는내내 또 다보고나니 지호세희커플의 여운이 계속 남네요.. 정말 이둘은주연중에 주연인것같네요. 다본지 일주일정도되었지만 아직도 여운이 가시질 않네요.
손정민 저도요. 뭐 유명했던 도깨비,, 태양의후예,, 그런 드라마도 지루해서 중간에 그만 보고 말았는데 이 드라마는 너무 좋았어요. 제 인생 처음으로 울고 웃으며 보았던 드라마에요. 얼마전에 이별을 해서 그런지 더 감정이입이 됬을수도 있을거같네요. 3일에 걸쳐서 끝냈는데 너무 보고싶어요 이 드라마. 드라마를 다 봐서 슬픈 적도 처음이네요

When I first watched this show 2 years back, I didnt understand the meaning behind episodes. Now I rewatched completeley 3days ago I understood the message the show is conveying. This made me forgot all the kdrama I have watched so far. This became my top of the list. What a beautiful show this is. If you dont like slice of life shows this may be boring for you. But if you like slice of life this will be one of your favourite kdrama.
I didn't want to watch this when it first aired bcoz I can't watched Jung Somin paired with other male co star bcoz I shipped her hard with her bf now her ex bf..but bcoz this drama airing again on TV so I decided to watch it,and ended up falling in love ..it was surprisingly great drama..there is no evil character here,evil parents in law,evil ex bf gf
..this drama is really close to our real life..I love how everyone portrayed their character especially Lee Minki..and how I love all 3 main couple chemistry..Sehee with Jiho,Soo Ji and Sang Goo and Wonseok and Horang..I love how real their character is..

I watched this drama because I am a fan of Lee Min Ki. He may not be in the league of known handsome korean actors but he has his own charisma and charm. I like his visual and shy countenance. He seemed to act so easily well. The drama seemed slow paced BUT it is a great one. Tells what real love and life is... the story and the cast are great. I now become a fan of Jung So-Min.

I have watched and re-watched this drama ~5x. This is not the drama category where the leading man is 'pretty' but rather manly and the leading actress is 'dumb' from keeping true to her feelings. In a way, this made me realize and see perspective from different kind of relationships. The actor, Lee Min Ki nailed his interpretation of a 'broken' person. The poetic style of writing sticks to your heart and something that the audience would really ponder about.
There are dramas that you enjoy watching because the actors were performing. This drama you enjoy an introspective view - analyzing yourself. It is slow paced because it is not meant just for you to watch, it is for you keep a closer view of one's heart and motives. I enjoyed it as much as I 'felt' each line delivered by the actors.
I read a review that this drama is feminist, and somehow I agree. It did not portray women as doormat being but highlights women's different aspirations and dreams.
This drama isn't about just romance but it gives us a lesson in life and this the reality happening in life of marriage. You have to consider many things before tied up to someone.
I'm afraid I won't find another drama like this:( I swear it's painfully underrated and I just can't get it. The script, the soundtrack, the actors, everything is beautiful! Could someone recommend me something similar please??? Now I have higher expectations and I just keep quitting all dramas after having watched this masterpiece:(

I just finished this drama and i love it and i love it more especially this song. This drama is my cup of tea, my style because i like the slowness of the story (i am a slow-burn romance enthusiast) and how it is so relatable, not the marriage-contract part, but on the dreams every person have. That we should not give up on it even if there are a lot of hindrances on the way. I like also the personality of the main lead both jiho and seehee because there is freedom and respect for each other that they can still have their own space individually. There was no force and abuse between them. Their story is so magical like you can't have it in real life, but i just wish that God will send me my own sehee, that is calm, respectful, reserved, formal, sincere and a comfort person.
I just love it so much (the drama) since i loved both the actor and the actress. It is so swoon worthy.

I just really miss this drama. I highly recommend this to everybody who are in relationship or even the youth. A lot of lessons we can get in the drama particularly about marriage. I learned that marriage is not about honeymoon or flaunting how happy you are with your partner. It really change my perception about marriage. The drama also openly widen my mindset about achieving your dreams.

도입부랑 2절 시작할 때 가사가 너무 가슴에 와닿다못해 파고든다.. 어릴 적 꿈들이나 수많은 사진들 버킷리스트들 무의미한 종이조가리가 된 것만 같고.. 오늘만 버티면 내일은 달라지겠지하고 위로해도 또 똑같은 오늘이 반복되고.. 가사 진짜 잘 썼다. 노래도.
100점 만점에 1천점.
그리고 이번 생은 처음이라 드라마 넷플릭스로 2번 정주행했는데 인생이 뭔지 연애랑 결혼이 뭔지 정말 많은 생각을 하게하는 드라마라고 생각함.

Just finished watching this dec 11, 2020. In just two days , i have learn so much and realized many things in my 25 yrs of life. It is not your typical drama. It is YOUR DRAMA. You can actually own it. The lines and dialogues are faves. No flashy cinematography or whatsoever but it will def touch your heart.

This drama is rare. Its like I'm reading in first person point of view. A book-like-drama that will make give you lessons about life and relationships. And this OST fit the series very well.
I just finished watching this drama, ik I'm late, idk why people haven't watch this drama, it's so underrated, it's so amazing and real, I'm in love and I won't forget ever or move on how amazing this drama is.
