Hello, I'm a Visual Arts student in high school and I am currently writing a 4,000 word essay on how the Rococo movment has influenced a fashion collection. I have to read an unhealthy amount of articles and papers and it can get exhausting and unmotivating. Perspective, and Waldemar I want to express how grateful I am for this video series. Waldemar clearly shows passion for the topic and is an amazing story teller. Waldemar, your passion is contangious and makes me excited to learn and listen to you. Thank you for giving me motivation to write my paper and placing excitment in my otherwise unflavourful research process. The video is wonderful and infromative and makes me want to write. Please continue creating videos of the same nature, the heart and soul that goes into them dosen't go unoticed. Thank you!
This is amazing. I still can't believe I can watch this for free. I used to purchase his videos but never regret cuz they have always been great in quality. Thanks god for his continuous works in youtube. So precious.
I agree, Waldemar's 1400-1900's documentaries are the best of the best - the Rococo and Baroque are my all time favorites and as an artist I have learned more from watching these videos than from six years in college as an art student.
I simply adore Waldemar and love all his videos! Not only are they so well done but he adds his own great personality ! Such a wealth of knowledge and insights they always are!❤❤❤
I totally think the same! My favorite is his video about the Viking Burial Ship.. if you haven’t seen it - prepare for an hour that will blow your mind in such a good way!
At 2:52:17. I wish Waldemar had shown one of the most arresting paintings I've ever seen. It's from Goya. It's rather obscure. It's part of the "Black Paintings" Goya had painted in the interior of his house. It's of a little dog, its head above this vast yellow space that looks like quicksand. It's the saddest, most terrifying portrayal of an animal I've ever seen. I almost cried when I saw it. To me it portrayed the emptiness of an indifferent, callous universe drowning us all, represented by a desperate, little dog. Incredibly moving is all I have to say. I need to see it in real life.
I have always wanted to learn the basic history of art and searched for the same . However, this particular channel has become an immense help to me. Thank you
Good morning Eva! Wonderful to see you again. I completely agree about Gardens and pollinators. I am envious of your garlic crop.😊 Give my love to Willow. I see she has a sore foot. Wishing you all the best in your beautiful dream!❤
How extremely fascinating are all your art series, how bewitching, delightful and at the same time how greatly educational! I cannot stop watching them one by one over and over again. And then I return to those which I haven't seen for a while and start this magic from the beginning. But my appetite for your stories is never satisfied and only grows bigger.
As a mural artist I am in awe of the Tiepolo ceiling! It's difficult enough with drivable lifts and manufactured paints! To have to relocate scaffolding and make paint also is mind blowing. It only took him a year?!!! Working above his head?!!!
Your sweetness of spirit and kindness of heart always come through in your vlogs. Thank you for consistently putting peaceful vibes into the world. The “Fairy” piece is amazing. With it, you’ve added yet another beautiful thing to the world. ❤❤❤
Love this series and Waldemar is just the greatest. I notice in Episode 3 that his narration audio track seems to be mixed way too low for the background music - right? Could (in theory) just be my sound bar acting up at least inside of the first 10 min or so of episode 3 I was unable to hear the narration well enough......
Hey Perspective! Next we want to be able to see the following featuring Waldemar Januszczak: Toulouse-Lautrec: The Full Story Barromini the dark side of baroque The lost supper Here comes the summer the undertones story The Michelangelo Code: Lost Secrets of the Sistine Chapel Handmade in Bolton
@@kyleanuar9090 Yes! They are productions in which he is featured. It’s the only documentaries that I can’t find online, I’ve seen everything else he have made. Toulouse-Lautrec: the full story can however be rented at Vimeo for 14 dollars, But I don’t want to pay that much
Venice is more beautiful in reality than in any Canaletto painting. He did not add light - if anything he toned it down to suit moody northern tastes. It was quite strange how Waldemar’ own footage disproved his words.
I'm looking for the music at the opening of episode 2, played bay the two women with cello and harpsichord. I can't find any infos in the credits at the end of the documentary. Does anyone know what they are playing?
Hey man, if you happen to see this.. I would love to see you visit Sarasota Florida at the Ringling. They adopted so many styles. I would love to know the history. Thanks
1:15:30 why would not 'sans souci "simply be: "without worry", kind of like the modern expression " no worries " or something indicating pleasantness like that, am i missing something . . it doesn't seem that odd to me, not saying it could be, of course, moreso complex for sure, but " without worry "just seems so obvious as a kind of welcoming banner
I can’t help but think that Marie’s sentiments were misconstrued in her realization of the “fake village”. It’s well known how much of a doting mother Marie was to her children. The village, as I’ve come to see it, was more realistically a humble gesture to her children, so that they may experience moments of a more wholesome, fulfilled upbringing.
Did the sound mixer take the day off for the Hogarth episode? The sound was fine until then, then the music has to play all over the narration so you can’t hear the guy.
How do get access to all the amazing artwork? I mean all the places you get into looking over the scope of your videos. Especially like the one where you & your mates to some largely unpopulated banana republic like place with one guys statues, face draped over buildings.
I wonder how much of the rococo finery and frippery, enchanted gardens, pleasure and leisure, freedom and happiness, filtered down to the ordinary citizen? Not much I suspect. Likely in their rude and harsh lives they had hardly an inkling of the joys of that lifestyle. But then history is owned by those of wealth and power.

Waldemar is art himself! So fantastic, Thank you for the great journey again
Thanks for taking us along
The repose on the sofa mimicking the "pink-bottomed godesses" broke me up. 😂 Art, history and humor is such a winning combination. So grateful!

he's funny too
No words to describe how thorough, informative and excellent your storytelling is. Thank you for putting together such an amazing series!
I never gave much thought to the Rococo period. Pastry rather than art. Thank you, Januszczak, for opening my eyes.
Valdemar should have his own channel
He does, this one. And, it isn't that big of a deal, but his name starts with a 'W'.
A much more comprehensive history of the arts than offered in the colleges that I attended decades ago.
This was just marvelous. Thank you, Waldemar, for supplying the knowledge of art history that my art college never did.
Another great series from the fantastic, Waldemar. He's a great presenter/host & it's always a treat to see new uploads featuring him.
Waldemar’s voice alone is pure music. Learning about art from you is indescribable joy. I wish you only greatness! Thank you.
I totally think the same! My favorite is his video about the Viking Burial Ship.. if you haven’t seen it - prepare for an hour that will blow your mind in such a good way!
Enjoy all your stories - so informative and such a great perspective and I always learn something!! Thank you!
Three hours excellent storytelling by Waldemar. What a treat! 🧡💛💚💙💜🤎
I've watched it 6 times! He's hot...what can I say? Older men still do it for me at 53..,

I just discovered this channel and i am addicted from the first 30 seconds.
How I love his job! He is an amazing storyteller. It is one of my biggest dreams. Tells stories like him! ❤
what an unseen treasure this series is. only 28k views and 475 likes. crazy. Thank you Waldemar, you reignited my interest in art as a whole
I had very little interest in art until I started watching Waldemar. Hopefully he makes more!
Waldemar has ruined me for other art history videos. Yet I still can't conceive his last name.
Not to worry, when it was on the actual television millions saw it. Its a BBC show, not some internet clip.

Waldemar is perfect for the job. Love watching him with art documentaries. 💯💯👏👏. Excellent documentary 👏💯
Just the best art docos! Especially with the literal rambles of the narrator :)
Waldemar, I snorted coffee out my nose when you posed on the fainting couch. I'm yours forever.
Bravo again and again............ Thanks!

Thank you for the unforgettable show. It's an authentic classic.
thank you once again. ❤
Love your shows and love your style.
Love this guy and his art history lessons
My only criticism is the audio. Music drowns out Waldemar.
I’m enjoying my journey with your films. Thank you.
Always a pleasure.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING....
Waldemar is such a beast I want to see his newest stuff I beg you.
then watch the BBC, where these shows were aired 10 years ago.
On Ep 3 of this series, Waldermar's voice is drowned out by the soundtrack. The music is louder than his voice.
Absolute masterpiece. Waldemar is a genius.
My guy cracking the entire code just to tell 800k people that the dude who partitioned Poland was gay. Legendary.
Loved the couch modelling so funny oh and the socks ha ha.
Beautifully presented!
I can't quit watching this documentary.
"A wonky statue of Jesus." I love this guy! "There's still time. But not much time." Wonderful, humorous narrative! Thank you!
I made the mistake of actually watching this before bedtime!!
Great writing maestro!
I look forward to your videos

Walddemar, you are the presenter of the damnn universe. I can't think of A more off putting topic to me than Rolcoco Arr but you made it fascinating

sound editing on part 3 is terrible. Waldemar can not be heard above the music slapped onto him
That is a product of converting the file format for UA-cam.
Wow. What a story!

Tell me about that pearl again, big Daddy! OOP! I get excited when Waldemar gets excited....happy happy happy
Great docs but the blaring, crappy music ruin all Waldy’s videos 😢
Why is the music so loud in the third part, I literally can’t hear a thing Wally is saying

What Mother killed? English are.
As an avid photographer I agree that the light in Venice is magical! That is an interesting point. Wonder what Waldemar would say if asked?
The sound mixing is atrocious! Can't hear the great Waldemar over the music soundtrack. Still, a great series and I'm a huge fan of what he is doing😀

That Gainsborough's daughters spent their old age together without men is not as bad a fate as Waldemar implies. 1:47 Men are overrated.
