1. The material or similar materials can be found as foam board / PVC hardfoam / Sintra. You should be able to get them at any hardware/DIY store

What type of foam did you use for this? I've tried using foam craft boards, but they seem much harder to work with. Thanks, and great video!
thank you! The stuff I used in the video is (PVC) hard foam from hobby color, but from what google tells me, it's nearly the same as every other foam craft board. . How easy it is to work with really depends on the thickness of the plate. The one I used in the video is 3mm thick and relatively easy to cut. But I also have a 4mm thick plate and it's very hard to work with this one.
Is it okay to use thin cardboard because I don have any foam stuff

haven't used it yet, so I can't tell for sure. But from what google says I believe it works, you just maybe need to add more layers since it seems to be a bit thinner than wood/school glue

Where do we get the card board thingy?
Does anyone know where I can purchase the hard foam? I've look at Micheals, Walmart, and my local craft store an all I can find is 5mm think foam board. I can't even find it online! I live in the U.S.
I've found it before at Hobby Lobby, and I've seen it at Micheals too, so I'd probably look through lots of craft stores. I know for sure that Hobby Lobby and Micheals had it last time I was there.

You COULD use a super stiff/thick cardboard or something if it holds its shape, but you can get foam board at Hobby Lobby or Micheals.

+Susanna Ennenbach no problem! It can be used to make swords (I made Arya's Needle from GOT) but the longer and thinner the blade gets, the less stable it will be. Also, I recommend making the blade of mutiple layers not just to give it more dimension, but it also helps stabilizing everything.

Annabeth's knife isn't cursed. Piper's is. If I'm wrong sorry but last time I checked annabeths knife isn't cursed. Sorry if I am being picky and all that.
Yeah, remember 'cursed blade shall reap?' that was about Annabeth's knife. It's cursed because Luke broke his promise.

And what does the wood glue do?
cardboard might not be strong enough, but if it's just for pictures you can try it :) The wood glue seals the surface so it will be smooth and the paint won't come off

i've made a knife prop before and i just used cereal boxes. And its easier to cut too. And it was pretty strong

lollypop11033 the work itself doesn't take too long but since the glue everything needs quite long to dry I would say about 2 afternoons + evenings (letting it dry over night)
