Well done. I enjoy the direct approach on the walk thru without all the useless words most people add to fill in video time. The wooden extra on the handle does add a nice touch. Keep up the great videos and look forward to seeing what's next on your project list. If you have any other small shop type ideas for guys like me who are limited on tools and space I would really appreciate it.
i love it. i don’t have a ton of money so im going to get some mdf boards and build my own mold but i definitely be making one of these. and after watching your video about tips and tricks im ready.
Is there any maintenance needed on the board when using Rubio? Should it be waxed occasionally? How about cleaning it? I love the little wood piece in the handle.🙂
We recommend using a light dish soap and warm water to wash the board after each use. If the board looks dull or aged after a while, you can apply a coat of the universal maintenance oil or sand and re-oil the entire board. I have found that the Rubio holds up really well over time and refinishing is almost never needed.
I love this, but I have two major questions. 1. Once the epoxy was done curing, did you run the board through the planer and do all the sanding, engraving and finishing in the same day because I've heard as soon as you start planing and sanding you need to finish the board because of moisture and possible swelling. 2. When you sanded off the engraving epoxy, wouldn't that create an uneven low spot on the board since you had already sanded the board to final finish before you engraved it?
hey jeff, have you ever tried to make a custom mechanical keyboard case? a cheap one to try is the Anne Pro 2 if you ever want to try, would be awesome to see how your work turns out, also amazing video
Is the epoxy strong enough to support the weight of the board if you held it flat by the handle? Or is the handle more decorative? I’ve never worked with epoxy (but want to) so I don’t know how strong it is
The epoxy to wood bond is very strong. The handle is fully functional. We just released an "Epoxy Tips + Tricks" video that you will find very informative.
No matter what epoxy you use or what finish you use, I wouldn't recommend cutting on it. Unless you stick with only cutting on the wood portions of the board.
The handle looks "ok", but I think if you're going for usability, I would recommend two ergonomic handles angled with the wrist on each side to aid in the ease of moving stuff from place to place. .
Oi sou do Brasil sou seu inscrito do seu canal queria saber qual e base branca que vc usa pra nao gruda a resina epox se vc poder responder agradeço obrigado e um abraço
There’s a reason he didn’t comment back. There’s no way to cut on epoxy, it will leave little bits of epoxy in your food or on the knife regardless of what finish you put on it
Epoxy resin can damage the hormonal system and is suspected, among other things, to cause obesity, diabetes or infertility. So bon appetit from the board

Looks awesome! I love the tiny piece of wood left in the handle

Love the bit of wood on the handle! Adds a bit of character! Awesome video! Learned how measure our pours 😂

Epoxy is not food safe.

Me too!
This incredibly charming piece, my regards, best regards from México 🇲🇽✌️
beautiful nicely done
Very nice, how do you clean the epoxy from the paddle after mixing?

Excellent!
Thank you for the kind words! We appreciate the support!
Bro that's amazing
Awesome job I approve
This looks amazing.
Do I need to pre treat my wood before adding the epoxy river? I’m using some really nice black walnut for the cutting board.
I love this, but I have two major questions. 1. Beautiful
What laser machine are you guys using? That looks awesome!
Awesome 👌
That is beautiful...
Love it, I haven't got into this yet but looks like I will be soon. Well done.
I love it !!
Thanks Christina! We appreciate the support!
So when I purchase the 18×36 it will come with the dividers?
Could you put together a kit that all I would need for this project?
We do list the materials that we used in the video description. I would use that as a reference to put together a DIY kit for yourself.
hey jeff, have you ever tried to make a custom mechanical keyboard case? a cheap one to try is the Anne Pro 2 if you ever want to try, would be awesome to see how your work turns out, also amazing video
We haven't tried that before. I bet it would look cool.

This is so beautiful. How much do you charge for something like this?
What wood is that? I have some 2" thick White oak pieces that I want to try this on. I'll be making an order soon. Thanks!
We used walnut for this pour. White Oak is great for these projects too. Thanks for watching!
my god this is fabulous how much does it cost
Does the epoxy hold up long term against knife cuts?
Will that not dull a knife super quickly? Is it food safe plastic?
Jeff great video but how do you recommend cleaning the board after serving so i will not damage the rudio finish thank you
We recommend using a light dish soap and warm water to wash the board after each use!
What sanding grits do you start and finish at on the serving boards with epoxy? And what grits do you water pop?
Perfeito!!! Parabéns amigo 🎊👏
Super 👍
Is their any way to make epoxy cutting boards functional for cutting?
No matter what epoxy you use or what finish you use, I wouldn't recommend cutting on it. Unless you stick with only cutting on the wood portions of the board.
Hi. Question for you. Where would one purchase that epoxy mold you have in your video?. Would be interested in getting one. Thanks.
Hi David, You can order forms at www.JeffMackSupply.com
What thickness is the board? And ratio of pigment to expoxy? Please and thank you =)
The handle looks "ok", but I think if you're going for usability, I would recommend two ergonomic handles angled with the wrist on each side to aid in the ease of moving stuff from place to place. .
Show de bola meu amigo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
My ocd wants it centered but i love the idea
I used my grizzly spiral planer for this step and the chip out was excessive. Pretty much ruined the piece. Were my passes too heavy?
Hi Jeff How did you cut the hole in the handle? Thanks
We used a forstner drill bit!
Awesome, what Rubio are you using!
We are using Rubio Monocoat Pure 2C Oil. You can learn more and purchase from www.JeffMackSupply.com
@@jeffmackdesigns thanks
Oi sou do Brasil sou seu inscrito do seu canal queria saber qual e base branca que vc usa pra nao gruda a resina epox se vc poder responder agradeço obrigado e um abraço
This does look cool. I wouldn't use it to cut food on though. The chemical exposure to the food over time has to have some kind of bad affect
Endocrine disruption
Where can the form be found & of what material is it made from?
You can find all of our molds available here! jeffmacksupply.com/collections/shop-all-resin-epoxy-molds
Muito bom esse vídeo parabéns.
And about how much money did you put into that resin that went into that cutting board
How would you work out epoxy amount in metric?
Multiply your Length X AVG Width X Depth and divide by 1000. there is 1000 cubic centimeters in one litre of liquid.
Can epoxy be used for a board that you do intend to cut on?
I wouldn't recommend cutting on an epoxy board.
Where can I get that mold?!👀
We sell epoxy molds on our website www.JeffMackSupply.com
How much money do I need to spend for resin like that
Wouldnt that be bad to cut and have little particles in your food?
Where does one get the form?
You can order the form at www.JeffMackSupply.com
What kind of oil You used?
Rubio Monocoat
Where to get fume
Can you actually use knifes on a board like this if your wanted to?
There’s a reason he didn’t comment back. There’s no way to cut on epoxy, it will leave little bits of epoxy in your food or on the knife regardless of what finish you put on it
@@taylorwilliams5967 so it’s more of a display board, rather a cutting board.
does anyone know if the resin contaminates the food????
Me encanta
Purdy!
Thanks!! 🙌🙌🙌
Great tip on the spray. I tried using liquid latex but that was not helpful. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! The spray works great!
Epoxy isn’t food grade safe is it????
Epoxy and cutting biard. Sure, it will not leave marks after use
Epoxy resin can damage the hormonal system and is suspected, among other things, to cause obesity, diabetes or infertility. So bon appetit from the board
Awwweee i thought he was making a kunai....awe
Epoxy is not save for food ... Don't use for kitchen thinks .... But your art work is awesome
Why on earth didn't you just make a template and route the handle and hole? Upside, you have a quick and repeatable process for future builds.
Organic Non GMO GF person: But is it Food grade?
Такую досочку из эпоксидки врагам дарить, они будут готовить кушать на ней, и будет меньше врагов
Rather have a functioning cutting board. I don't want pieces of epoxy chipping off when in use or an epoxy surface dulling my blade faster.
1:02 "simple"
Idk if it's mentioned or not but epoxy is NOT food safe. This should be for Decoration only.
Красиво,но не практично,если порежешь на такой доске,то будешь кушать с эпоксидкой.
It's off-centered.
