IT IS INCREDIBLE THAT AT THIS LEVEL AND WITH THAT INSIGNIFICANT VOICE, SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A DECENT THRILL, MORE THAN WITH THE BODY AND OVERACTING, BY THE WAY THIS IS NOT REPERTORY FOR HER
She's pushing so hard and singing as loud as she can so she has lost her flexibility. It sounds very uncomfortable to me. She pushed her voice so hard in romeo and juliette her voice actually went away.....
Stupenda... DIANA DAMRAU....il suo canto... con una pienezza di accenti...dove...i..vocalismi anche i più difficili sono di un virtuosismo unico e lasciatemi dire.... la gioia che traspare quando questa eccelsa cantante esegue le più difficili partiture.... ne danno un esempio della sua bravura e sicurezza... permettendosi di esprimere tutto il suo enorme talento con come dicevo.... con grande gioia. Complimenti alla Grandissima DIANA DAMRAU. 🙏💐

I was a big fan of Damrau, seeing her several times on the Met stage and in various videos. But something has happened to her voice, and it’s unpleasant to listen. She’d be better off singing lyric roles now, perhaps Musetta.
That is not coloratura. That is bad technique, horrible performance.
This aria was written for a dramatic soprano singing piano and pianissimo. This is NOT for her even in the best vocal day of her life.
