i love a good color story, but because i own so much polish, i very rarely allow a color story to influence me to buy a whole collection. my exception is the ilnp harvest collection, which i bought when my collection was much smaller, so i definitely justified getting the whole thing. but yeah, i do love to see really solid collections.
The Harvest Collection was SO beautiful. When I was taking my first look at indie/boutique stockists they had the Harvest collection on their site's banner and I was just SOLD totally.
@@KelliMarissa that's a great point! i'm pretty bad at coordinating my outfits with my nails, but i do love color palettes for making jewelry and art! such a great takeaway.
Not what I would be attracted to for summer for me personally but I agree that Essie has improved their formula and brush over the years. You’re the most perfect nail swatcher out there Kelli 💅🏽
LOVE Glisten to Your Heart! I wouldn't normally think of a "sand" color as beautiful, but this one is! Meditation Heaven is a great summer shade The color and formula is really close to Wet N Wild's My Butter Half (one of my all time faves)
I'm a mainstream gal but this is only because I have very little patience to wait for anything coming thru the mail/delivery! Today's colors are great---would love to see It's All Bright layered over a darker color.
Hi Kelli. Your enthusiasm for nail polish has inspired me to go back to doing my own weekly manicures. I have been going to the salon for many years, but now I enjoy finding new polishes to try myself & my nails are a lot healthier. So, thank you. Have you made a video on manicure & polish basics? I'm thinking for someone starting out or ideas for putting together for a gift etc.
2:44 idk ... it's a summer collection, but these are all spring colors, except Sol Searching, which is giving autumnal. Nice colors & tbh would wear them all but after ODing on pastels for the last couple of months I'm in the moody mood for bold colors, foils, and neons 🤷♂️ if these are still shelf warming at CVS next spring I'll grab the leftovers.
I bought Breath in Breath Out, I also love Sunrenity and the yellow, but I have a lot of those rosy shades and yellows. Definitely a lit up skyscraper view.
I like buying whole collections. Also generally buy mainstream/boutique brands as they're easier to get hold of, especially in the UK. (Orly being the bulk of my collection, followed by ILNP.) That colour story is so pretty! Definitely giving summer sunset vibes!
I like this color story! That metallic reminds me of gold or metallic leather sandals. I love Essie for wearing solid cremes and often do one coat of an indie over them.
Hi Kelli, loving Sun-Renity ☀ and Sol Searching. The whole collection is different and pretty. Mountain View for sure, I live in the city, and am so over it. Have a great week
Color stories never really mattered to me, just individual colors. I'm still an individual color person but after getting into makeup, like eyeshadow palettes, I have a new appreciation for color stories. On top of that, HT was the first experience that a color story actually "tells a story" or invokes a feeling. The standout for this is the vacation collection. I display all of my boxes but that one gets a little vibe corner to itself.
I live in Michigan but was in Virginia a little town in the mountains called fancy gap. I fell in love with that place. When I'm ready to retire that's where I wanna do it at.
If the yellow wasn't there I would think Fall. I do like the Glisten To Your Heart the best. Ha. I would love the mountains but with a fan blowing. lol
This is one recent collection that has me loving every color. I love all your swatch and reviews, too. I'm not creative enough to be a color story person. I'm too right-brained for that. But I do see immediately what polish colors complement and contrast to wear together. Guess that's the analytically minded view. I'd love to trade for a day to see what being creative feels like. But I do happily recreate designs. 😊
I love this color story and mainstream polishes hold my heart 💙 don’t get me wrong indies are amazing but my mainstream are so affordable and easy to get and don’t sell out as quickly and a lot of my mainstream creams I can stamp with also. I agree with another comment and it does give lemonade vibes or summer sunset too.
Love this pallet. I prefer to be able to run into a local store and grab a polish. Essie has been my go to lately. I just recently tried their jelly polish on my toes and I love it. Plus I have gel, acrylic and dip allergies😢 so regular polish is for me.
I love color stories, but I typically buy individual colors. Essie is my go-to impulse buy brand. If I'm at the grocery store, bored going through the food isles, I'll hit the cosmetics and grab a bottle of Essie to brighten the mundane.
Will you be releasing a video of the beachy brights 2 from Zoya this week? They have a sale on the collection until the end of the month and wanted to see your review! I’m very intrigued by this collection!
I'm pretty much with you on the views. I've lived the wilderness mountain thing, and I like seeing a city from reasonably high up in that city. Where it changes for me is that I don't like seeing skyscrapers from a ground floor (or very low floor) apartment because it just feels like I'm very on display if my curtains are open. Higher up that's not a problem :) Ironic when you consider I'm afraid of heights, but I just don't look down while right up against a floor to ceiling window and I'm fine.
I do love when a collection has a good color story because it scratches an aesthetic itch in my brain. I'm definitely a mountain and sounds of nature person though. I don't mind occasional city noises but mountains ftw 🏔️
They aren't bad. I like the first 2 and the last one is nice. I'm not a big color story person. If I like a color, that's it. Lol I live in suburbia, so I guess I like it quiet. No mountains are needed. Lol I like to see the sunset, and I'm good. 😊
Hey Kelli ❤ I love Essie my love started with Essie’s Penny Talk (it’s been a long time since they came out with it) and “It’s all bright” reminds me of it. I have question 🙋🏻♀️ what would you recommend for a ridge filler base coat? If you see this I’d really appreciate your advice. Thanks 😊
