    Save my life!!! I content that I found on the internet elsewhere is only confusing me. But your lecture is FANTASTICALLY CLEAR!

    I've used and appreciated your lectures. You cover difficult topics and make them clear. The one thing I would ask is that you enable transcription. I have an audio processing disorder that makes it difficult to comprehend some of the things said. A transcript would let me read along while watching. Thanks.

    The mother centriole or the daugther centriole develops the basal body? In your video " Centrosome and Centrioles" you have said that the mother centriole develops the basal body but in this video you say the daugther centrilole develops the basal body

    Is it proton ring or protein ring?

    • @pathbasics
      @pathbasics 4 роки тому +1

      Protein ring, similar to ATP synthase, movement of protons down the electrochemical gradient causes a conformational change on the protein ring - i.e. it causes it to rotate and thus drive the movement of the flagella. He said proton ring, which may be another term for it, as it relies on protons.

    Hey quick question, you said the daughter centriole makes the basal body; isn’t it the mother centriole (at least that’s what you said in your other videos). :) awesome videos btw.

    Great video. When you say proton but mean protein, it can be confusing.

    please upload a video about euglena flagellar movement and paramocium ciliary movement

    • @troyjesse7833
      @troyjesse7833 6 років тому +1

      Cilia and flagella use the same mechanism. The difference in how they move is largely a function of their length.

    • @rishi5441
      @rishi5441 3 роки тому

      @Troy Jesse Yup! Cilia work just like oars i.e. causing movement of either cell or the surrounding fluid and flagella are comparatively longer and are responsible for cell movement.

    What is the origin of prokaryotic flagella ?
    Is it cell wall or cell memebrane ?

    • @rishi5441
      @rishi5441 3 роки тому +1

      Prokaryotic flagella is thin filamentous extensions of the cell wall whereas eukaryotic flagella are the outgrowths of the cell membrane.

    who build that machine? ..the prokaryotic Flagellum motor that rotates and not turns in helical fashion as he said...250 proteins produce a 40 part motor! very "human" tech! just look at the size! we can't even see them today, we have to colour them to see them.
