    In 1987 I tried to enlist in the Airforce during my senior year of high school. I got disqualified because of eczema. I got a letter from my doctor, but I still got rejected. It broke my heart. I went home and literally cried! I ended up going to college and getting a job as a Probation Officer. After all these years It still bothers me sometimes. God Bless.

    I went through a similar situation. It literally took me a year and a bunch of medical records from every doctor I had ever been to. I was on the verge of giving up when I finally got the call that I'd been approved. Don't give up just yet. Sometimes you just have to focus on something else and give it time.

I went to the regular doctors and had all normal readings. Letter to all my peoples❣️
    I know a lot of us might thinking Gods “plan” involves a perfect life, everything will go smoothly, he will lay out what job he wants us to have etc, but as many of us know that’s not the case, that it doesn’t always involve a wealthy lifestyle, an easy life, or riches here on earth and that’s why God wants us to TRUST IN HIM FULLY. If we have Jesus then we know that our hope and faith lie in the fact that if we are saved, if we understand that we are sinners and need a savior, JESUS CHRIST, who died on the cross for our sins that we may live with him in heaven for eternity, then that gives us peace on this earth while we are living here for this short amount of time. I wanted to write all of you this letter to remind you or to maybe to let you know for the first time that Jesus Christ, the man in the Bible is real, is God, and loves his children, and is waiting on you to make the choice to follow him.
    Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
    John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."
    Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
    Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    • @Mariescott3380
      @Mariescott3380 7 років тому

      +Jack Lan So does that also mean you are out of luck with ever joining the military in the future, too?

    • @Mariescott3380
      @Mariescott3380 7 років тому

      +Jack Lan But sometimes proving to the military that the disqualifying defect was a misdiagnoses does not always work even if the doctor noted that you never had it. The military sometimes just ain't going to buy "Oh, it was just a misdiagnosis and I swear on a stack of bibles that I have never ever had it in my whole life." I watched another youtube video about a man who was denied twice by the Air Force after trying to prove he does not have eczema on his arm. And he submitted medical documents stating he has never had it before and everything. Waiver was submitted and it got denied twice. So with that, it's like being between a rock and a hard place trying to prove you never had the disqualifying defect your entire life in the first place and don't have it now. It's a damned-if-you-do-damned-if you-don't worse case scenario. And many applicants going through this may find the military enlistment process a frustrating experience because of that reason.

    • @Mariescott3380
      @Mariescott3380 7 років тому +1

      +Jack Lan And unfortunately, what if the waiver approval authority/Surgeon General of the military branch the applicant is trying to join is too familiar with the "I have never had this defect my entire life; it was all a misdiagnosis" story? Hopefully that is not the case but it could be unfortunately likely that the military probably has heard the story too many times and sometimes won't buy it.

So they told me to get it checked from a physician outside of meps 2 times back to back. I did that and my BP was at a normal level and like you I waited close to 3 months just to here back from them. Every time I asked my recruiter he told me that the papers hasn't been processed yet and one day 3 months later he told me I've been dq'd for it. Asked whats the next step and he told me maybe another branch. I came back home from school and a month later he said I could get a waiver for it because he didn't know then. This time I went to the army recruiter and now in the process of transferring my paper work. So don't give up! Too much hard work went into all of this; definitely the planning part! We got this!

This time was in Nebraska. Going to a better meps was honestly a huge part of it. The people were nicer and better and more willing to work with me. Places where there's a huuuge population don't care about getting you in.

      @@DomingaShataun Thank you. I done lost count how many times I tried for that waiver but it took me about almost six years to get in the Army National Guard.
      There are times when God brings certain people that are right for us into our lives for the better that will help us in the midst of our battles and remove the toxic people out of our lives that seek and try to destroy us. This was one of those times: I was denied a vision waiver multiple times before 2019 and thought there was nothing I could do and almost gave up on my dream to serve in the military. I was dating this guy who thought I should get eye surgery to remove my glasses permanently. I thought eye surgery would help me get in the military and almost went along with it but I had this gut feeling warning me not to get that eye surgery. So after thinking long and hard about it, I decided not to get it or listen to him. History of eye surgery is disqualifying for the military if presurgical refractive error in eyes exceeded 8.00 diopters and there was a significant difference in refractive errors needed to correct vision through surgery. So that would be two more new disqualifiers added to the vision disqualifier I already had: Excessive refractive error. Plus refractive surgery was not recommended for me according to an eye doctor because I also have amblyopia in one of my eyes. So I do not qualify for eye surgery. If I was unwise enough to listen to him and get the surgery anyway, I would have still not been in the Army National Guard and stuck with a permanently messed up eye and possibly vision loss that would have been nonwaivable. And he would have not cared. Turned out the man didn't like me with glasses on and only liked me better without glasses. I felt uncomfortable when I was spending time with him and safe when I was not with him. His character was questionable because he would disappear and not be heard from for days at a time. His excuse was he was busy helping family members or had to go on an "emergency business trip" with his job. He was not good for me. And he felt like I was not good for him because I wouldn't listen to him and do what he said. I am no longer dating him. He was removed from my life for good after I told him I am not getting eye surgery and it isn't his decision to tell me what to do with my eyes and vision. I like my glasses and am keeping them. They are a part of who I am. Why should I have to change my appearance for a man? That was not happening. Then months after cutting him out my life for good, I met the girl Army National Guard soldier in June who gave me the card of the girl recruiter I called up, met, enlisted with, and still talk to now. The girl soldier was also recruited by her too when she joined. This has made me embrace how God has made me even more even though it has made joining the military a challenging 6 year uphill battle for me. I was made to wear glasses. I should have gotten the girl soldier's name, rank and phone number so I can tell my recruiter she has referred me to her and the soldier could get credit and earn a ribbon to go on her dress uniform. And I stay in touch with recruiter even since I first called her up and started the enlistment process. I even want to invite her to graduation from basic training.
      When I saw the link to the video of you delivering news that you are finally approved to join the Air Force, I just had to watch it. I was glad to see that you were persistent and didn't give up.

    I got a letter saying I was disqualified for my sulfa allergy. After my recruiter told me that my waver was approved. I got another letter yesterday stating that I was permanently band for entry in the armed forces of the United States. Texted my recruiter and they told me that they had just gotten an email asking when I would be taking the asvab again. So something isn't right. I should be getting the news today if I'm ever going to go into the navy or not. I didn't even look this video up. PDQ means that your condition is perminant, not that you are Permantly DQ'd as standards can change.. Thats why he needs paperwork saying you dont have it. For example. A broken bone is a TDQ, aka Temporary, because the bone will heal.. But if you get surgery, the surgery is PDQ, because you had surgery, and the surgery is perminant, you cant go back and undo it... NOW, im sure youve seen youtube videos, but PDQ's are waiverable depending on the condition. So dont get discouraged.. From my experience, the Marines are the best branch when it comes to recruiters. They really work with you. Just don't let the term PDQ scare you, it just means you need to find your way to MEPS to get your DQ and send up a waiver. I've got bad vision, correctable to 20/20, but my paperwork hasn't been perfect. Im currently waiting on my second BUMED, post DQ. I'll let you know how it goes.. but don't ever let them tell you no. There are ways. I've already been to MEPS twice, taken the physical and all, so now its just a matter of getting the approval to go DEP in.

      PDQ meaning permanent condition like having surgery (because you cant undo a surgery) or allergy.

    I tottallly understand. I wanted at first to go into the Air Force but my recruiter litterly didn't ever work with me. I told him that I been off anti-depressions for a while now and I had a very low dose when I was and I even had a doctor's note twice updating this and that he would send it in. Well he litterly fucked me around for over 5 months saying we have to wait 6 months to a year JUST to send in a weaver if I will be accepted or not due to medical. I called and left messages and texted him, he obviously reads it because it says he reads my text but no responses, not call backs, nothing. I never got updated about if I got accepted or not. So I said fuck this, I went to join the Navy and I just didn't even mention my anti-depressions because if you been off a long time, its not worth the shit going through the medical people. So I 100% agree with this. However something simple like my situation and Dominga(sadly her situation didn't go as planned); if you do have a medical condition that does actually effect you (like asthma) don't lie to the military about it because if they find out, it will be 100 times worse then saying it in the beginning. Goodluck everyone and Dominga ;~;!

    One possible option you can try is have a doctor clear you of eczema. If you don't have it and have a dermatologist confirm it on a letter head. Have them submit that letter with a hand written statement saying that you don't suffer from it. It's called a medred and the Navy can send it up. If you get those two letters from the doctor and use those with your paperwork (2807), that will help. It will have to go to BUMED.

    Just join the Civil Air Patrol. It's the USAF Auxiliary you can fly in Cessna 182's and do real missions given to you by the USAF. Mostly commonly Search & Rescue, and Disaster Relief. You'll also get to work with the national guard, fire departments, american red cross, salvation army, FEMA ect. Also 95% of inland SAR (search and rescue) missions are done by Civil Air Patrol, the other 5% are done by USCG and volunteer groups. CAP saves more than 70+ lives annually from these missions and they are considered part of the total force for the USAF. It's like the American Red Cross, but you get to fly in a multitude of airplanes, utilized communications equipment, wear USAF uniforms with distinctive patches/logos, you'll get a flight suit etc. Long story short, it's like if the American Red Cross was a quasi-military organization. Definitely worth a shot. You could earn a life saver metal or better, the highest possible achievement in the CAP. The Silver Medal of Valor. It's like CAP's version of a purple heart. It's given after someone achieves a heroic act that put themselves in danger so they could save another life. You can earn it even when not in uniform. CAP has 60,000+ members both adults and teens, 550+ aircraft, 900+ land vehicles. Check it out. :) Semper Vigilans.

I've just registered for classes this fall, I'm taking a full load this semester so maybe I'll be able to get more credits in if I do end up going! I hope you're able to pass this test with flying colors :D and let me know how it goes! Thanks again ❤️

    I feel you really, I was planning to join the Navy this year (I am from Mexico but I was born in the States) anyway the only 2 weeks (I went in March)I had to do my paperwork to enlist the Navy office was closed due to the COVID-19, it didn´t helped at all that 1 month after that, I fell terribly ill due to a Gastroenteritis that made me loss almost 20 kg (In April). And to make the matter even worst my Gastroenterologist misdiagnosed it so many times so I couldn´t start to recover till November of this year when I went to see another doctor. When I start to feel OK again I will go to try again. I am happy that at the end you were able to enlist.

    I'm thinking of joining the military, I've had a rough life and this is something I've always wanted to do however I am a very nervous and have a couple of concerns. In middle school I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and type two diabetes after a while I sort of stopped believing in medication that it helps us all so I sort of stopped taking it and I haven't had a problem, I haven't had any symptoms I've been doing fine anytime that I do decide to check my blood sugar at home it is really never over 100 and I eat whatever I want to, do whatever I want but I have to lose a certain amount of weight and I am trying to do that as of now my concern is I've been watching UA-cam on mine to your recruiter which I really do not want to do but I also do not want these elements to maybe stand in my way of what my dream is and I just kind a need it vice on what I should do when it comes to those two problem areas.

    I don’t understand why they trip out about eczema like people still work out and sweat and do whatever if they have a flare up you just put a cream it’s not like it’s contagious that’s crazy I know so many people that have eczema that doesn’t hinder anything

    I've been trying to reenlist and being prior service I have had to 3 LOEs saying I should be allowed to rejoin I had to get a doctors letter as well it's been such a pain I would already be in if they didn't limit the amount of ps they accept a year the new fiscal year starts oct. 1st they initially disqualified me but I proved there wasn't anything wrong. My problem was my dd214 had contradictory information. If you need specific advice I can help!(:

    The meps doctor misdiagnosed me saying I have scoliosis when i've ran 2 spartan obstacle challenges, the marine corps bootcamp challenge, the gladiator obstacle challenge and 12 5ks. I've never had any back problems and they disqualified me so then my recruiter sent in my waiver and I put all that down on a sheet my recruiter gave me so i can explain that to the general surgeon. The general surgeon accepted my waiver thankfully, they tell you at the briefing in meps that each service has its own restrictions so you can try another branch and they may accept you but i dont know cause im not fully knowledgeable on that subject. Good luck!.

I am wanting to go to OTS because I just graduated from Ball State U and the recruiter told me about submitting a package and the earliest i can test is September and its a 6 mo wait and all this loose information its frustrating but God is ALWAYS in control so I'm trusting in him and I'm gonna stop stressin'.

    I want to join the Navy. I have a master's in International business. However, I have multiple hereditary osteochoma. It doesn't effect my life anymore (and it never really did to begin with). I've had 3 surgeries to remove them from my body and on the last one I had a fully body scan that showed that I didn't have any more problematic ones. In addition, I had my ACL and meniscus repaired. The multiple hereditary osteochondroma is on the lost ofndisqualifying medical conditions. Dont know If it's worth it to bother...knowing I'm going to fail.
