I found the best preparation for me was playing Web challenges in CTFs every weekend for a good 6months before I started OSWE and writing exploit scripts for every challenge I completed. Typically challenges like this are whitebox so they are really good practice. For example the HTB web "challenges" which are mostly just retired tasks from their CTFs.
@tadii most of the time yeah, they will be much smaller. But a few are a good comparison in scope and size, two that come to mind are Polaris Control and Unearthly Shop (both retired now)
good question. i've seen one or two of the java items that are kinda the same, but not really. it would be a good start though, the pentester labs challenges just don't have as much code to look through
Do you have to have web developer or software engineer experience in order to pass the OSWE? Or a more appropriate question would be, what sort of programming experience do you have prior to this?
no, you don't need to have dev experience. i don't have much dev experience. reading code isn't difficult, but you'll need to get pretty good at python (or any other scripting language) for automating your exploits
Hello Tadi, I love your contents and spend alot of time for it. But... Why don't U have a "Htb web challenge" series with step by step debugging, rabbit hole, explain and metholody sovle problems. I think some people need it like me. Thanks U, good luck for u Sorry about my English skill :
can't really say the oswe really made a difference honestly. the oscp got me more eyeballs than all my other certs - doesn't make it the most beneficial with regards to learning though
@@tadii if 80/100 jobs recognize and require OSCP how much jobs opportunities OSWE will open, since i am thinking abt taking OSWE for more job opportunities, i also have 3yrs experience as application security engineer but most jobs need certs moving forward.
OSWE is the hardest.
Congrats man! onwards and upwards. Love seeing your journey!
Appreciate it!
I just got my OSWE after 9 months of study and I couldn’t agree more with both your videos!
it's gruesome isn't it LOL
Absolute awful experience lol. A true exercise in self hatred. So glad it’s over…
Thanks! For all your content. Enjoy your videos!! Keep killing it!
thanks!
Congratulations for your achievement ❤

true, i like the whitebox aspect of them. the size of the challenges doesn't necessarily sum up to what you'll see in the OSWE though

Great review, congrats on passing!
appreciate it brother!
Waiting. Notification on.

Love your work brother, I’m just starting out love the vids
thank you very much my guy! good luck

Congrats, man! Can you provide any htb machines list that will be helpful before enrolling for oswe
Hi, what about "code review" tracks in Pentesterlab? Does it help on OSWE?
good question. i've seen one or two of the java items that are kinda the same, but not really. it would be a good start though, the pentester labs challenges just don't have as much code to look through
Hi Tadi. Is thm more than enough to get networking skills or we nedda go through smth like CCNA ?
CCNA would not be necessary
How would you prepare so it wouldn’t take as long?
quit my job and study all day lol. that's where most of my time went

@@tadii thank you for the feedback. This gives me hope that I might be able to earn the OSWE one day :)
Was it indicated anywhere if u needed to get a reverse shell or do you just need to grab the flag?
they tell you exactly what you need to do and if you still confused at that point the proctor can provide clarity
Do i really need to be really good at coding before doing this cert? I only know the very basics (I have the oscp)

How are the job opportunities for OSWE compared to OSCP to get an interview for application security role

Bug bounty/Hall of fame >> OSWE. is this true ?
yup, anything is better than OSWE honestly lol
*Promosm* ❗
Aren't you too old for braces?
do i look 50 or something?😔
