Magic Tales: The Princess and the Crab is an adventure and educational game developed by Animation Magic, Inc. and published by Davidson & Associates, Inc. in 1996. It was released for Windows and Mac platforms. The game is part of the "Magic Tales" series, a collection of interactive storybooks aimed at children, developed by Animation Magic and produced by Davidson. This series was introduced at the 1995 MacWorld trade show and includes titles based on fairy tales from different parts of the world​​.
The story of The Princess and the Crab revolves around Marina, a princess who is more interested in her fish pond than in courtly matters. One day, she buys a new crab for her pond, only to discover that it is an enchanted prince who can return to his true form at noon every day. Upon learning his secret, Marina embarks on a quest to defeat the witch who cursed the prince, learning swordfighting and music along the way. The game concludes with Marina defeating the witch, freeing the prince, and the two getting married and setting off on a journey​​.
