Matthew Huhta a good tip is look at the air bubble and if its completely yellowed and cloudy that means its gonna crumble sneakerheadinthebay has a more in depth video
Do you absolutely need the duller and finisher or will the paint come off without it? I've seen a lot of videos where they just apply 6-7 thin coats of paint without the finisher

yes you should aply finisher my paint came of. atleast thats what i recommend.

What's the difference between using a paint stripper and just acetone/nail polish remover?
Depends on the midsole I've found. I prefer to use acetone for midsoles like am90's and the polystripper for 3's and 4's
