I would appreciate it if you invested in a head light.. Some parts are pretty dark and I had to turn the brightness up all the way on my phone to see what you were doing. Thanks!
Shoot! I forgot to edit that part to be brighter i apologize! It’s hard because the gopro is on my head already! so it would need to be like a chest light or something lol!
Do you have a video or instructions making that door stand you have that you weigh a door with. Looks super useful and well made. Think I see end/center bearing plates on a torsion tube.? lol love it
Was that an app you put those numbers in? After you weighed the garage? I wasn't sure what calculations you made to determine the spring. I'm seeking knowledge
Sometimes my garage door gets stuck when I open it. It does not open and the whole bar and belt bends under the pressure only way to make it pop open is to pull on the top of the door for it to pop out… It’s like it gets stuck going up straight and doesn’t want to start turning up. Should I adjust it? Is it too far down? Cuz I also notice one side is hitting the ground more than the other.😭 idk
You can extend the opener arm so that the opener pulls it back instead of up into the header, you can adjust the limits on the opener so it doesn't go down as tight
All a garage door tech does is understand how and where brackets and joints are needed/used. There’s only a couple of things needed on garage doors , I don’t know why this is even a whole industry, you’re literally just putting together ikea furniture and calling your self a craftsman. Prove me wrong
The hardest part about installing a garage door is 1) if you don’t have to people to help, and 2) framing the garage so the door fits. For number 2 it’s not even your job it’s the framers job.
@@jeffreyjenkins3894 Exactly, thats just another part of the whole job. But just the premise of "door easy why job" is such a bad take its not even funny

Finally someone swapping springs the same way I do 🔥
Exactly! The only way it should be done!

Thanks!
@@ericlawrence7689 Of course, if you ever have any other questions let me know im here to help!
Are you using 12” or 16” tongue and groove pliers when you remove your cones? Great videos man!
I could nto tell you right this instant, but 12" tongue sounds right
question, why do you measure the radius of the track for spring replacement?
Because the radius of the track can change the IPPT, meaning the spring could either be 28" on 12" radius, or 28.5 on 15" (could be flip flopped)

why do landscapers even exist? all they do is cut grass……
This might be one of the worst takes i’ve ever heard
residential door systems are usually simple. Hop in a lift on a big commercial door that needs repaired and you will understand!
