I love how Tyler mixed the beat a little differently to get the bass a bit punchier and with more compression to give more room for his lower voice. It adds this subtle dynamic in this mashup that makes the song so much more enjoyable.
no offence but isn’t the opposite literally true? The low end is much more crowded on this mix, and as such jay’s voice sounds even thinner than on the original mix. Not sure what you’re getting at.

I think the 4: 44 beat might be my favourite beat of all time, that sample is otherworldly. I heard Ziploc from Tyler and adored the beat, then when I finally went looking for the sample I realized the beat was a song from Jay Z. So I ended up finding two incredible songs, an amazing beat and original sample, and this beautiful mashup in the process

This is the logical path that some portion of hip hop needs to take as much of the audience and artists age - 9 minute tracks. Stoner Metal length songs and albums of 6-8 tracks. Tight, sexy, moving pieces of work that vibe and make me go “oh daaaaaamn”
