My first time BMFS show . Already got my tickets for the Halloween run . I'm 64 and there's only a few people I can listen to for a straight 12 hours at a time. Tuna ,Dead , Willie and now BILLY !
Some really great work here. Thank you Billy Strings, Royal Masat, Billy Failing, and Jarrod Walker the tunes! Feels to me like a nod to growing up in rural Michigan as a teen listening to Black Sabbath. When I was a teen in the early 90s, I loved Alice In Chains, Metallica, and Nirvana. Billy on the guitar is doing the same thing these bands did. Making his own brand of alternative music, that is not dead, but alive and well, and kicking like fucking hell. I love this band!!!
One of the best planet Caravan covers! That sure is a tight band. And a hugely original style and sound! Great work boys.. hope you also get the recognition you deserve. The acoustic guitar is just sublime... Rock on 🔮
Billy rights like Robert Hunter and plays like Jerry Garcia. He’s definitely true to his Michigan roots and you can tell he was young and grew up in the 90’s. Definitely the best young talent I’ve heard in a while
Heard in awhile you mean ever he is the best guitar flat picker I have ever heard I’ve been playing guitar for over sixty years I’m seventy three and I can not touch him not ashamed just a true phenominol player one in a hundred million.
The ending of night two really grabbed me like no other. Its hard to describe with words, but it was tense and i loved it. Something about secrets to caravan to wargasm, then straight into an encore of Am i born to die? I think there was something deeper, darker, and bold about that string of songs. I don't know if it was the current state of the country, the war in the east, the cops messing with fans..don't know, but i felt like it had purpose. Same shit, different century. Here we go again. Its no parade, seeing tanks on your street, what's the mission? when's it going to end? I loved every second of these shows...my favorite run to date even considering shows in my home town. They never cease to amaze.
Ride On Well said.....feel those sentiments as well...this tour has been different than the last, saw them in St Auggy and that Tour didn't have the sense of urgency, this one has. LOVE THE MANDOLIN......soundz like a HARP 👼 But every Show BMFS PLAYS IS A BLUESTHRASHER !!💥💃💫💥🕺💫💥
@@susiefairfield7218 At some point in Cary I screamed aloud, "LISTEN TO THAT MANDOLIN!!!!" Because it just sounded so ethereal in that moment. I love what they do so much.
Appreciate the quality upload! I was on the rail and am still recalling every memory. The race to the rail is thrilling and I met a ton of cool people.
I was there, excellent show. Pleasantly surprised he played this very late in set 2 (Planet Caravan). A young guy had a seizure as this song happened directly in front of me. Scary stuff. Eerie song accompanying it.
I was there as well, and must have been next to you because i saw the guy going through it too. He spoke to me earlier that night because we have seen each other at a few shows. Very scary stuff, i remember looking at him and his eyes were in the back of his head. Very eerie with sabbath playing. I hope the guy was alright.
@@walkerhinson5453 oh wow I was hoping someone could corroborate this. And yea I specifically remember his eyes also. The flashing lights may have been a factor if it was indeed a seizure. I've been searching the 'net for any info, but nothing which is probably a good sign.
Oh wow. I was pretty far in the front too. How was I so totally oblivious to him having a seizure?? Did medical come and take him? I didn’t even notice! But my eyes were closed for this entire segment
@@hollyjorgensen86 Thankfully i think he managed to gather himself. He wasn't exhibiting all of the symptoms of a true seizure (was still standing thankfully). I remember turning around to see a lady walking with him away from the front, so hopefully he was alright!
@@hollyjorgensen86 this happened farther back. The cops/security did arrive and helped him leave. Pretty hectic scene for a few minutes. I saw an ambulance with lights on as we all left, so I just assume it was for him.
This is awesome! I was looking at the Cary shows, but couldn't pull the trigger because my vacation time is limited to enough to cover three Metallica trips in the near future. Fortunately for me, the first show (Lollapalooza in Chicago) featured both! I was REALLY hoping he'd come out and do a Metallica song...maybe "Mama Said" , but actually, any of them would have worked! Thanks for this video!
well done, indeed, but the, in key, runs lack the feeling of anything. Tonni played a statement, Billy just played fast, in key. pretty damn cool he played planet caravan though.

The halloween shows always have the best vibe imo. I just got back from the nashville show in late feb great experience.
@@Notacoolguy1863 just got back from the Charleston Sunday show. Another stellar performance. Already in on Cary summer shows.
Fabulous. What a talent Billy Strings is. Fearless, scorching band tearing into Billy's original songs. God bless Billy Strings and the Boys.
Yea Billy and the gang has been the only music I've listened to the last 2 years.. this shows you why... thanks for the video.
Amen...fkn amazing so much feel and soul...and I'm a death metal thrash punk and grind dude..lol
Billy can do justice to pretty much any song he covers
Well.. 15 mins of cold chills
Love Sabbath and love Billy! Cool take on a classic.

I cant believe my eyes. Seeing him for my second time on Thursday at peach fest can’t wait
BELIEVE IT!
I was at the show and when they kicked off Wargasm the ground was shaking!!!
That must have been fucking amazing! They are in such damn fine form right now.
Kesey would be proud of these tests.
I was there but didn't know the name of this song. Loved the show.

Still can’t get over what you can do with that acoustic guitar , just amazing!
right! this guy's playing is inspiring

I remember listening to this in 1974. Older brother loved this song and not just iron man. Great version !
I'd love to see Ozzy join him to sing this with him..
And I hope Ozzy has seen them do this song.

Look at 'em, goooooooooo!
Black Sabbath called and they have conceded the song to Billy Strings and now recognize this arrangement as the definitive version.
LOL
Billy! Play Dark Star!!!
He has.. he did it once at my request in NOLA in 2021. It's on my channel.

AMAZING
Pantera’s cover of this is amazing.
I believe Dime may have won solo of the year in Guitar world for that one
I was fortunate to catch this in March 2022 in Cleveland. Is there any cover this dude can’t do?!
I've heard so many, I think you're right.
👍 don’t know what it is different you do but I feel like just a boy
