The shoppers really didn't know Drake was going to walk into the store. According to the locals who Drake bought groceries for, they saw cameras being set up, but didn't know what for. Drake walks in and announces that everything is free and to stock up much as you can for your families. According to Miami Herald daily news reporters, Drake was encouraging the shoppers to go crazy and fill all of their carts up. As Drake left the supermarket many shoppers waited to thank Drake for his gesture. Now the student he gave a scholarship to be name Destiny James (insta-destinyparis) who is poor struggling student from South Carolina who was working multiple jobs and trying to get scholarship to stay in the University of Miami. You can read about Destiny in her bio on her instagram page. As far as the people who received cash and cars on the street, Drake worked with two black female officers Major Gause (insta-@majorgausempd) and Commander Simmons (insta-@modelcitychat) who patrolled the North side of Miami and knew the needs of the local people in the community, so that's why Drake knew the needs of those particular families. Now the youth center he gave the van to be the Overtown Youth Center (insta-oycmiami), which is run by Alonzo Morning and his wife. Alonzo stated that the kids call the white van "The Drake Van" and Drake is continuing funding the Youth Center by building a state of the art studio. The man Drake embraces with the suit at the fire station in the video is Mayor Francis Suarez of Miami and Drake wrote the fire department a $20,000 check for the paramedic training program according to the City of Miami official twitter account and The Miami Herald daily newspaper. The lotus women shelter (insta-@lotushouse1) is where is donated the toys and gift cards too. This is the only shelter for women in Miami and he gave them $50,000 towards their expansion and daily meals. The three women he took on a shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue are all locals, but I only know the story of older lady name Odelie Parnet who works as maid for the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami who had to commute 4 hours to her job. Drake stated on a behind the scenes clip that all three women had touching stories that made him decide to take them on a unlimited shopping spree. I watched a video on Odelie's story on The Miami Herald daily news website.
He gave away close to a million dollars. If people complain they gotta check themselves to see what they done for the community then lately. If barely anything I want you to imagine a celebrity swoops in and drops a million around your city. Is it hate then? We don't care about the intention of super malicious actions (i.e. Serial Murders) but when it comes to benevolent actions it's always conspiracy and nitpick. He is a multi-millionare in his 20's, I can't fathom someone hating on him giving back to a needy community. He has been rapping about him always giving back to communities but now that it is in video form its a no-no. If you're not gonna bring the community up don't add weight to the elevator all i'm saying #ShakeMyHand
People complain cause they weren't there receiving benefits, Idgaf if he made a whole 30 minute tv special broadcasted on national television, the fact is Drake helped people that needed help. He did more than any other rapper he could've just made the video in the hood and went on bout his business without giving people a dime! Quit being bitter half of Americans would never do this if they were in the same position. Respect!!!✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Mark ... correction ,you say half of America wouldn't do this,,I say more then 80% of the world would never do this..this nation is built off greed playa..you yourself more then likely wouldn't do this .. just being honest
Drake is a real one for what he did for those people, drake got a lot of cash, I’m pretty sure he dnt care bout 1 mill going to help out people in need, Much Respect 💯👏🏾
yeah word jayblac, i felt the same way about just seeing the reactions from the people that was receiving, i wasn't looking at drake the whole time! We went from judging too much nudity and gun violence in a music video to complaining about a man giving away money to people that actually needs it. This tells you a lot about our generation! #Jayblac4HunnitKSuscribe
I don't care if he would've made this into a movie. Were the people real? Did they really get the money, cars, food etc.? If the answer to both questions is yes, then this was FANTASTIC! Why is it when people do wrong, everybody wants it publicized then? But when you're doing something GREAT, you're supposed to keep it to yourself? That makes no sense to me.
PREDA KING ..to answer your question if the Money was real and was the people really receiving it...I would take a wild guess and say absolutely that why this not to expensive to make video totally close to a million dollars...yes that included all the real money he was giving the person and the gifts
Honestly I cried when I first saw this video and still get a hard lump in my throat whenever it's replayed for the simple fact that all joy, any joy there is to be found in this world is good joy...even if it's someone else's. God bless Drake and you too JayBlac!
I like this video alot it shows alot I'm happy he did something good for the people thats less fortunate and just being a good dude taking time out of his schedule helping the kids and the community half the rappers don't even do something like this i come from nothing and just watching this video makes me happy for every one in this video
Terrell Andrews ...no disrespect king but let's stop only targeting rapper...so you saying that r&b singers are use to doing this act of kindness..what about the pop artist? What about the movie stars? Sports player? Fuck it the whole damn bussiness of entertainment? Trust me you won't find many ,so try expanding you mind just a little bit more and not just aim at rappers..they are all entertainers at the of the day...God bless,,,God's plan
Antwan Grant i wasn't targeting anyone or anything just saying what was on my mind at the time didn't know i was suppose to expand everything sorry no disrespect just was lazy
Terrell Andrews ...you sound like a smart man king...you know how them folks already think of us blacks and rap is legally owned by us so I always try to balance it out and throw they ass in the mix aswell...rock artist, County music.. movie celebs ..not saying that they are not showing love like drake did because it might not be televised but then the same concept stands for rappers who not making it public knowledge or want the added attention....master p is a prime example how he employed over a hundred once apon a time helping out his hood folks...many other rappers..the list is endless but like myself I don't want the extra attention and would much rather remain anonymous as possible....
I dont think that any other celebrity let alone a rapper has ever done this. If every celebrity did do this it would make a huge impact in the lives of people that were on the receiving end. Alot of people really just need a little push and to know that people care, I believe it could really change our society as a whole and would inspire those that were blessed to turn around and bless someonelse. What a crazy thought huh???????
That video was epic.. Sooo "Make It Rain" was tolerable but "God's Plan" is a problem?.. Im scared Blac.. Have we come too far?.. Keep doing your thing bro.. You gonna land something big this year bruh. I promise.
Yea shit like that, a make yo heart melt idc how hard u is.. people a hate on anything. .i salute em....them tears aint fake, the excitement and joy that was on those folks face was authentic
This video actually inspired me. I lately did something very generous and it made me feel really good. However, I'm too much of a fan on Drake or his music ( in the music sense) but I did love the video. This is the inspiration most people need. People need to understand it's not about the money. It's about the act of kindness shown to people who needs it the most.
there is nothing to complain about, him filming it inspires others to do it, drake doesn't need promotion so any negativity is uncalled for. and all the people who got the money is all varified and im not even a drake fan but salute what he did. 1
The video synch was bit off blac but ive watched the video a bunch of times so it dont even matter, and i love what drake did and the video in its entirety..Blac, shake my hand...
First time I watched these video even heard the song. Song is fire and I agree with u he made family happy they not only got to meet a celeb but got some bread from him at the same time
These are real people, all with specific needs and struggles. What Drake did is Amazing and Drake has been giving back for years, this is just one of the few times where we've been able to see it. That's a blessing and the goal is to inspire. We all may not have a million dollars but we can all make small contributions. But some toiletries take them to your local homeless shelter. Spend $25 on can goods, drop them off at your local food bank. I dont make a whole lot of money but these are small things that I do. I try to do one selfless or volunteer act every month. It feels dope to help.
You're speaking facts. Can't believe people are really complaining about this. At the end of the day, he gave back when all the other celebs didn't. Just be happy that he's doing something positive.
If it was real then it was beautiful. His agenda behind it none of our damn business. Some people got blessed during the process. Anybody who got a problem with this is jealous they want there or mentally sick. Like 2pac said SMILE. JAYBLAC shake my hand. You got a good spirit
Mike B ..why you even have to question if it was real? I would take a wild guess and say absolutely 100% do to the fact this not to expensive to make video came close to a million dollars....yes that included all the real money and gifts he was giving the person...god,s plan is always real...good bless
Drake is the biggest rapper right now, so that publicity angle dont mean shit he didnt need anymore publicity & whether he did it just to look good or genuinely cared, somebody life changed regardless
Not too proud to admit that I legit cried the first time I watched it..I hadn’t heard anything about it prior to me watching it I just clicked it when I saw it n yea man halfway through it was a wrap I was crying like a little girl lmao it was beautiful! I tip my hat off to Drake he dope good review blac salute
It's great when they have rolexes and Bentleys in there videos people want to get that stuff nd if drake gives out money and it's quiet no1 will know this should make people want to do it to!! Good shit keep it up yolo!!
This put a black eye on the ideology of rap lables. The machine does not want this promoted in our community. If this is Drake's wave and it catches on it will single handedly control the shift. This move is causing a major panic behind closed doors. This was a vicious power move by Drake, awesome display of giving back.
Thanks for sayin it man, who gives a shit what his reason is for helping all these people, if they’re getting this help then I like, good for you drake, do it again
People hate to see other people be good because the majority know that if they had the power it wouldn't have went down like that. Drake has said that he is trying to be like Jay-Z. If you listen to 4:44 then you understand why Drake is doing what he is doing.

Would the haters still hate when they where in the video? Love the fact that Drake did this!
♥♥♥
Who can watch so many people get blessed and be mad?
the only thing that bothers me about this video is how the actual music vid is cropped.
he said imagine if half the rappers did this. What if all people above 1 million in net worth gave away just half of what they own (which they would never do) what a better place the world would be in.
money is not which brings happiness its the more you give that counts ps i am gonna like my own comment cuz no one does
Vasundhra Bisht ...who ever told you that lied to you homie .. money bring a lot of happiness so yeah go on and like your on comment cause no one who has gotten a real bag will agree with u on that right there..god bless
Dude, I liked the video but it's a bit late but it's mt good..This is a plan of God.. Drake it's fucking haha. Send a salve to Brazil. 🤙
St8 Luv...
Good move with doing reactions!! Shake my hand 🤚!
He the goat for this
Who said when you donate or bless others, it has to be in secret? I personally ask all the time,"what are you doing all your money and influence", why should I wear your clothes or promote your music, what's your character like. I enjoy seeing people blessed or being a blessing.
she champion of the year 5 times in a row !!
lol “she’s been in shape for 50 years”
I think the reason why he didn’t go to a big brand store like Best Buy is because it’d defeat the purpose of what he was doing. Clearly people who shopping at Best Buy ain’t struggling. They ain’t worried about the next day. Drake spreading love to where people needed it most. Feel me? Help the less fortunate first. Anyways, I’m loving your reaction videos.
