This is so Hollywood. The men on top of the building are shooting standing up making easy targets instead of getting into a prone position.
That’s what happened, why are people so dense and are incapable of a few quick google searches?
Everyone wants to pretend like they are experts “uhh ackshually they would do this, this is so Hollywood”
I went to college in Northfield. The locals then had their savings in that bank and did NOT want it robbed!
Didn't the town at the time, also have alot of residents that were Members of Minnesota 1st regiment, during the Civil War?
Back then, I don't think there was insurance. If your bank got robbed, they were taking your money.
This isn't how it happened. Ridiculous.
Hugh M maybe so but it still was a brilliant movie,
It’s not accurate but it’s a good watch
This movie may not be accurate but it is still great to watch
It is accurate
@@goodstuff8156 no it ain’t
The Long Riders was better.
@@289cobra9 might give it a try if I can get my hands on it

Look it up on UA-cam.
2:40 There's no way someone would get up after taking a 12 gauge blast that close!
Could if it was bird shot and how do you know it wasn't a 20 gauge
Exactly!
As a retired law enforcement officer, I can personally attest that birdshot at close range is devastating. Look at ballistic test on mannequins.
😂
Maybe he is the.T-1000 Terminator. jk
Want to see a cool cinematic recreation of the Northfield Raid? Watch Walter Hill's "The Long Riders". Hell, watch Philip Kaufman's "The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid" which substitutes Oregon for Minnesota and somehow feels more authentic than this trash fire. I always remembered this as the worst Jesse James movie, and a waste of some seriously great performers.
Taylor Hensel never heard of The Long Riders, gonna have to try to see that one
Long Riders is one of my favorite films. Easily far superior to this one.
A lot of baloney in "The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid" too but when it came to the actual bank robbery scene it was closer to the real thing than I've seen in any other movie depiction.
Thejamesgang putlawdogs intheground therealamerican outlaws
Shout out to anyone knowing this scene is mostly B.S.!
It is B.S.
My thing is right before this scene it shows them sitting around a campfire a Randy Travis (Cole Younger) is singing Auld Lang Sign like it was New Years and the Northfield Raid is in September best I can remember.
The real story is so cool, Why but why did they let Scooby Doo write the script
the Pikertons had nothing to do with this raid...
Correct. The townspeople rose up and shot the gang to pieces. The actual bank is still there and serves as a museum. Me and my wife went there from New Jersey 2 years ago. A lot of fascinating items and info about the robbery and the the people we interacted with in Northfield were really nice. Well worth a visit.
it still kinda looks like that in Northfield
I live in north field
It was actually Filmed in van buren Arkansas
They damaged a lot of the downtown and left bills unpaid it’s actually kinda messy
There are more factual depictions.
I understand that it's Hollywood and therefore it's all for entertainment, but if you're going to be portraying a historical event, why alter it to the point that it's not recognizable? This is nowhere near accurate to the Northfield Robbery. Two of the robbers were killed and all remaining six, including Jesse, were wounded-two severely. Here it just turns it into a Wild West show. What takes me out of it is, the Pinkertons blaze away with revolvers and repeaters and only hit two at the beginning and can't touch Jesse or Frank or the others. You could have a Gatling gun blazing away at them while they're in the street and the Gang still wouldn't get hit, but the Gang fires one shot while on the run-hits a Pinkerton in the head and kills him. And then there's that one robber that takes a shotgun blast to the chest at pointblank range and still functions, no. Just no.
The "Long Riders" (1980) is pretty historical. If you haven't seen it, you should.
Could if it was bird shot. And it could have been a 20 gauge or 410
I just looked it up and the deaths of the townspeople are exaggerated. I read that 3 gang members and two citizens died. The guy in the bank who refused to open the vault, I believe, was killed and a recent Swedish immigrant on the street was killed.
The raid was actually in September. This one looks like late fall or early winter.Kinda cheaply made and a vehicle for country music singers.
50 percent realistic to "Long Riders" from 1980, naturally not authentic, and 50 percent nonsense like such scenes with being hit in front and falling backward out of a window
so what's more realistic this or long riders?
I always find it funny how the bad guys get away on horses during a gun fight. Shoot the horses you goof balls 😂
The Long Riders is the best movie ever about the James Younger Gang.
Love Rob Lowe, he's a super talented actor, but not the right fit for this role.
What is love Jesse James that’s my brother what is a slice of a heart 🎂🍰✝️hearts
Is this The Wild Bunch for poor people?
Go on on , killing ukry !! Lets go
Good to watch, but I think only one town person was killed besides the guy in the bank. The JY gang they had Kel Miller and some body else killed. Most of the gang was shot to pieces except Jesse and the guy who stayed back to help the Youngers, he was killed in the swamp. Off the top of my head
Is this a parody?
Thus his Detective Agency was formed
WestSide !
In real life, there was no setup or Pinkertons. The streets were full of people, who reacted immediately to the rather obvious robbery.
Half of the gang was reportedly stumbling drunk, the other half hung over. The surviving bank employees reported smelling whiskey all over the members who were inside the bank.
The cashier/clerk who they grabbed to open the vault was murdered out of pure drunken meanness, probably by Frank James, but nobody ever admitted to it.
The gang was cut down by normal townspeople, including one young medical student who grabbed an old rifle from the wall behind a bar and took up a great position in an upstairs window adjacent to the bank doors.
All in all it was pretty ramshackle raid, not very well planned out at all.
Northfield doesn’t really look like that
At zijui
This is an over the top depiction!! Theyd all be dead if this is how it happened!
They didn't have the community.
Red dead redemption 2 be like
Ridiculous shootout scene.
