  • Teach a child how to read - Letter sounds - Animals Names
This video is designed to teach children how to read.
Learning the letters sounds is the first step to help toddlers to read.
After that, children can be taught how to read two and three letter words such as CH (e.g. CHew, catCH etc), EA (e.g. pEA, mEAt etc.) EE (e.g. sEE) and so on.
This video helps children how to read by illustrating the sounds of lower case letters only. It is believed to be the simplest approach at the earliest stages of the reading process since it does not overwhelm the child and is a simple step by step process. The reason why lower case is most suitable for the first stage of learning to read, is because it is the most common format used in writing and likely what children see more often.
Upper case can be introduced straight after the child has acquired some familiarity with reading or recognising lower cases letters.
The font used is Futura since is easy to read and appears to be one of the most common fonts that children can come across.
The video is designed to help the youngest children (as young as one) to focus exclusively on the very first step of the reading process, reason why upper case letters, music and other distractions are omitted in the video.
The alphabet repeats four times throughout the video for convenience purposes since some children might enjoy the video played multiple times. However, a child can quickly learn the letter sounds even if the alphabet is only played once or twice on the daily basis.
