I got to be the rattlesnake in 7th grade because I played tambourine. Which was supposed to be a rattlesnake. My friend played wood block, I would say “beware of the rattlesnake”, and she would say “beware of the pop” because every time she played, it was a quarter note. Ah memories. 😂
i still remember playing this song with the beginners and high schoolers all on one field. we didn’t sound the greatest but i’ll never forget the fun i had.

Played this my 8th grade year in marching band. As I am about to graduate this Sunday (5/28/17) I am going through some old music and this song is bringing back all the memories. I'm going to miss playing my trumpet under the Friday night lights Edit: and now I am finding my way back to this about to graduate college! Oh how time flies

i’m not in marching band but i listened to this arrangement upwards of 100 times during the worst bout of mental illness i’ve ever had. this song makes me feel like i’m a week away from having a nervous breakdown and getting sent to the looney bin love & peace to you marching band folks though lmao
RIP my eighth grade band never got to play this because of the lyrics in the original song😭our principal was a nun at a catholic school and she didn't give us the go-ahead. Our band teacher was all for it😭😭
With any music in the world, I love playing the french horn parts. It's so easy which is good for me, but we also tend to have a very bad habit of blasting a little because of how we have our bells facing. Other than the playing of my high school band and how we play as a group (sound level-wise), I think that our band could pull this song off easy. We already play a tiny bit of it and its so freaking fun!
I am a silk in marching band and i love dancing to this song under the stadium lights with my marching band family. I love marching band with all my heart
+Ryan Slater one i play the flute in band but i know how to play the trumpet and sax and almost every instrument in the band so... u dont have any right to tell me that i could have played trumpet. i know i could have but i did not so deal with it

+Jaden Gerber True I guess. All us band geeks have a big ego one way or another and want to be heard over everyone else. (especially trumpets but they already are heard and they're adorable when they feel accomplished on getting their part perfected lol)
my cheer squad is wanting to do a dance to this arrangement but I need to shorten it-is there a way to buy the rights to this arrangement so I can download it to my computer? I see where I can purchase the sheet music but I do not want that.
My band has this in our folders but I've never played it in my four years of high school and three director changes. Probably because a huge chunk of the band their copy is written, like on printer paper with crappy lines drawn in but some people have a real copy. It's so bizarre.
Funny story. My percussion instructor thought the bass drum part was boring, since its only bass four (me). So he changed it to something completely different.
I’m laughing so hard about the trumpet comments and clarinet comments and I’m over here being my marching band’s enthusiastic tambourine player XD
Dramarch S A M E. I’m only assigned auxiliary because to carry any other percussion instruments while marching is to much stress on my lungs.

Drumline and low brass vibe the most in band

Honestly that was my exact reaction to seeing this song
It just sounds so good and I get tingly when I play it with my band.
I'm playing this at our homecoming game tonight and I got my band directors permission to let my dad play with us 😂 we'll both be on snare
