Love this song. Whole performance is based on messages and acknowledge on Serbian people's fight against worlds darknesses and how "Lila Ramona" never give up. This song has my vote!
It's amazing how it makes everyone feel the same. Every time I hear it I feel the same and the few people iv seen react to it they felt the same way. Brilliant!
That's the charm of music, even if you don't understand the words, you feel a deep emotion and chills... and the result is that you feel a touching emotion while listening to this song, it can be seen in your eyes... Bravo 👏 🌸🌸🌸
I am really sad that Serbia never gets the recognition they deserve. This year i feel really good avout Serbias song it really gives me the winner vibes and it teuly moves me 💜🇷🇸🌸🥺
It is all about history... WW1, Serbian army suffering during retreat through Albania, Corfu, death, "blue tomb" (buried at sea), rebirth and hope... victory... all in the one song and the flower.
Ramonda became a symbol of resilience and survival during the Albanian Golgotha, when Serbian military units had to retreat across the Albanian mountains in winter conditions. The plant was found along those difficult routes, symbolizing hope and perseverance in challenging times. Therefore, for many people in Serbia, ramonda represents a symbol of courage and resilience during difficult times in the country's history.
It’s all about the emotions 🖤 being transcended into different state of being. This song gives me the feels and goosebumps 🤩 obviously does the same for you, hard to hide it 😅
1. Ramonda is a very rare purple flower that grows on Mount Rtanj in Serbia and is known as the “Phoenix flower”. It can survive in harsh environments and can “revive” itself after dehydrating with only a drop of water. It was used as a symbol of the Serbian people in WW1 during which Serbia lost 1/4 of its population. 2. There are several lines in the lyrics that reference the famous exodus of the Serbian people (along with The king and army) who travelled by foot over Montenegrin and Albanian mountains to Greece in harsh winter of 1915. Around 240.000 people died on the journey and were buried at sea in a Greek Island in what is known as “The Blue Tomb”. The line “there, under the water, everything is dead silent” is a reference to that. Furthermore, another line states “there’s nobody left to guide me towards the morning star” again symbolizing the life in them fading as well as the fading hope of the Serbian people and utter desperation that we would perish in the war. Then you have “The world burns, every flower dies, where have the purple Ramondas vanished” = where have all the Serbs gone? The song ends with “A single purple Ramonda rises from the ashes” symbolizing hope and just like the Ramonda flower resurrects, so do the Serbian people.
You are such a nice soul man. People who can such a strong feel emotions through music even without knowing almost any word are a such a nice people. Power of Music is her universal language who every human beign feel and can understand! Lila Ramonda is pure emotions , great song! 💖💖
I don't have, I don't have, I don't have I have no peace, I have no sleep not let night come day woe to him who is alone Everything is quiet like under water I scream but it is not heard behind the mountains a white glow I don't see the end in sight this time is for the wounded And there is no one to guide me to the bright star Danica The world is burning, every flower where the lilac ramondas disappeared Chorus Lila ramonda lilac ramonda Lila ramonda lilac ramonda ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda And there is no one to guide me because the stars are all asleep not even prayers help where the lilac ramondas disappeared Chorus Lila ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda Lila ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda It rises from the ashes one lilac ramonda❤❤❤
The rock at the beginning symbolizes the island of Corfu where the Serbs retreated, where the skeletons of deceased comrades are still in the sea called the blue tomb. Those who recovered returned to the war and liberated Serbia, and thus their return was called the attack of the living dead for the Nazis. The song symbolizes, in addition to Serbia, the situation in the world, that one should not lose hope and that in the end, good always rises and defeats evil, both in the person and in the world. Ramonda is like a phoenix flower in each of us, that piece of the soul that tells us through intuition when something is not good or when we are in trouble and that tranquility when we are at peace.
The song "Ramonda" by Teya takes its name from the "Ramonda serbica" flower, which is found mainly in Serbia and nearby regions. This flower, discovered by a Serbian scientist in 1884, has a remarkable ability to revive even after completely drying out, earning it the nickname "the phoenix flower." Similarly, Natalie's Ramonda, a close relative of the same genus, is known in Serbia as "Natalijina ramonda" after Queen Natalija Obrenović. It became a symbol of victory in World War I, representing Serbia's resilience after losing nearly a third of its population. The song explores themes of loneliness and the resilience to bounce back from adversity, mirroring the Ramonda flower's ability to revive with just a drop of water. The official video clip includes a quote from the Gospel of John, emphasising the enduring power of light over darkness. The island featured in the video represents Corfu, Greece, where Serbian soldiers found refuge during World War I after facing dire circumstances. Greece provided Serbia with essential support, although many perished upon arrival and were laid to rest at sea. This aspect of the song serves as a poignant tribute to ancestors who overcame overwhelming odds.
I don't have i don't have I have no peace I have no sleep Night won't allow day to come It's hard for the one who's alone Everything is as quiet as under water. I'm screaming but I am not heard Behind the mountains white glow I can't see the end This road is for the wounded. There's no one to lead me To the lights of star Danica (morning star) The world is burning, every flower Where did the purple ramondas go? Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda There's no one to lead me 'Cause the stars are all asleep Prayers don't help either. Where did the lila ramondas go? Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda Purple Ramonda From the ashes rises One purple ramonda
For those who (perhaps) don't know, the ramonda is our endemic flower species (Ramonda Serbica) and a symbol of the suffering of the Serbs in World War I against Austria-Hungary, i.e. Armistice Day (November 11, 1918) and the final victory. Ramonda is a symbol of Serbia, victory, rebirth and eternity. It is also called the phoenix flower, because it is specific in that it can dry up, and only one drop of water is enough to revive it completely. It was discovered by Josif Pancic in 1874, on Mount Rtanj, near Sokobanja. The song of Teye Dora has strong symbolism, good music with traditional (Byzantine and Serbian) elements, arrangement and text, and in the text I especially like the (Serbian) motifs of the star Danica and Ramonda, as well as the beginning, whose rhythmicity and parallelism are very they remind us of our folk (oral) literature. Not to mention her voice. PS. Armistice Day is a non-working day in Serbia, and it is also celebrated in Great Britain, Belgium, New Zealand and France, while it is "Remembrance Day" in the countries of the British Commonwealth, and "Veterans Day" in the USA.
Natalija's ramanoda, known as the "phoenix flower", became a symbol of Serbian suffering in the First World War, when almost a third of the total population died, since it has the characteristic that when a dry period occurs, it lies dormant and dries up, so that with the appearance of water it "resurrects" and turned green again. Rebirth is associated with the fact that Serbia also managed to "stand on its feet" after an exhaustive struggle.
This not really typical Balkan ballad, those would be Beskvica's "Gnezdo Orlovo" song of this years Serbian NF runner up, Knez "Adios" from Montenegro, Hari Mata Hari " Lejla" from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Jelena Tomasevic "Oro", as well as Zeljko Joksimovic "Lane Moje". This is more modern akin to Billie Eilish and even Marija Serifovic "Molitva". It doesn't have those traditional ethno instruments like flutes, bagpipes, or string instruments. Should definitely check out Teya Dora's "Dzanum" song as well, that song became viral famous last year.
