Wow LBC could anyone be any more sycophantic?
I thinking she is attempting to defend her brother, Boris “get Brexit done” Johnson is a liar.
In my 84 years on the planet I have seen parties of Red & Blue come and go. It used to be quite common for MPs to fall on their swords when errors of judgment were made by them. Not any more. The vast majority of MPs are interested only in their own career path without a thought for the poor, the under privileged, and the sick. I always thought that things were meant to get better as ones life progressed but they don't. And who's fault is that?.....have a guess? Immediately, post war you could walk to a phone box and call your doctor day or night and the doctor would come to your address to treat you or get you to hospital to quote just one example (and there are many). That was when I was 12 years old 72 years ago? Look at the productivity of politicians of any colour over those intervening years, look where we are as a country, it is shameful and a disgrace but what alternative do we have? Answers would be most welcome.😢😢
You are not 84. GPs in 1952 typically worked from their own surgeries (offices) or local clinics. However, it was common for GPs to make house calls, especially for patients who were too ill or frail to travel to the surgery. This is because the ambulance services was at its infancy. The ambulance service of 1952 was not as advanced as today's services, it marked a significant step towards a more organized and publicly accessible emergency medical response system. Get your facts right!
@@TheSamisaid I'm 58, I remember as a child in the late 60's and 70's my Mum getting the doctor to call at our home when my sister and I were ill. He came out within a short while and prescribed anti-biotics and other medicines for childhood illnesses. When I was 9 and had Scarletina my Mum carried me to the doctors in her arms as I was so ill and when we got there I was put at the top of the Q. Amazing service.
Now? You say the ambulance service is supposed to have improved things?
Well, when my Mum had cancer and fell on the floor in the night, in 2009, I couldn't lift her so called an ambulance. When he arrived, he sat in his ambulance doing his paperwork and kept my Mum waiting on the floor for 30 minutes.
It would have been quicker to have knocked on my neighbours door and ask for help. When he eventually came to help my Mum, it took him all of 2 minutes to get her up and back into bed.
