This was the year I graduated high school and moved to Japan for a year. My sister would send me video tapes of the show. The Richard Marx song that's playing in the last part was my h.s. boyfriend and my song. When I moved to Japan we were no longer, and this song was fittng. Just made me cry.
I wish this was a year that GL had won an Emmy. I thought it deserved one for the first time since 1982 for the Outstanding Daytime Drama. I think if the Emmys had been true to what was shown on screen then GL would have won that Emmy Award for this year, and perhaps it might have gotten GL not to make some of the future mistakes it was going to make in the late-1990's, and perhaps stayed on the air later also without some of the mistakes made in the last decade -- the 2000's.
I didn't like this Alan at first but watching these clips he's not that bad I can't believe how much the cast keeps changing look at this compared to 1986's cast
One of the best years for GL. This brings back so many memories. Miss this era of the show so much. Thank you for putting this together.
So many memories! HB!

And oh, it was also huge mistake that Michelle Forbes (Soni/Solita) never won an Daytime Emmy as well for this year.
Alan & Nadine? That has to be the joke of a lifetime! Everything Alexandra said about it was on the money.

Didn't Cassie date Billy before ending up with Josh?

Actually not such a good year. It's the year that the one and only Alan Spaulding died, Chris Bernau.
1989 was an interesting year for GL! :)
