The only thing that's missing is that little clip from Comeback Kid where he's imitating his brother being that exact 12 year old having attention drawn to them. **fake laughing** **shoots finger gun at head** I really wanted to see that at the end.
I really appreciate how much attention Juliet got in this. Considering she's one of the titular characters as well as a badass she's too often overlooked. Thanks, mate.

i wish this was here before covid and gotten my english teacher to present this in our class during the romeo and juliet unit and i’ve moved away at this point so i can’t even show her :(
I dunno how I've never read R&J but hearing John say "I dunno you can tell I'm catholic from everything about me", I just knew what character Juilet was this is amazing

whoa whoa WHOA this has been up for more than 2 months and I'm only just seeing this now??? I regret how long it took me, but I'm happy I got here in the end
This makes no sense whatsoever!
Just read the original play lmao😂
It will, if you actually know the play lol
My teacher: ok so you should do some research on Romeo and Juliet before we study it next term.
me:
to be fair this video *is* really accurate
So is the fucking play.
love to see the shakespeare fandom still going strong
✨We stan Shakespeare for eternity✨

Yeah, after like 500 years. You would expect it to die out by now🤔

I’ve never seen anyone say that Shakespeare has a fandom, but wow that sounds like a lit. fandom.
The fact that “I didn’t kill my wife” didn’t make it in-
Must have been the UA-cam snipers
🥰🥰🥰
@@katrina257 HI KAT ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I really want to see John Mulaney summarises Macbeth now.
I second this
"and i said 'no', you know, like a liar" summarizes Macbeth to a t
Nice profile picture 😉
Othello!!!
"they think me Macbeth" literally the rest of Hamilton act 2 pretty much covers it after that
The lady capulet “could be a nursery” is so freaking on point, jfc
I love how all the Mercutio parts are john saying things in his gay voice
"the youtube copyright snipers took it out as soon as I uploaded it" has the exact same vibe as someone who yells "SPOILERS" in a discussion about Romeo & Juliet
“My dad loved us he just didn’t care about our happiness and self esteem,” felt that 🤧
when the father issues hit......
this but its my mom lmao
This but it’s both of them-
Same
"These guys are never where they're supposed to be." HA! Best part.
All Mercutio lines were perfection!
"Thank you! No one will ever see me again!"
That part made me crack!
😂
There’s CRACK in Romeo & Juliet??
XD
As someone who's been in this play...this is extremely arcuate.
I also did Romeo and Juliet (while in college) and can also confirm: This is extremely accurate.
same! i played tibalt and romeo (we were doing selected scenes for individual evaluation)
@@f_mva Cool! I played Juliet's Nurse.
@Shawn Furl someone else was playing romeo when i played tybalt, then i played romeo for his death scene :) i got to die twice!
as someone who has directed this play... this is extremely accurate lmfao

Madoc Martigan absolutely!! i wanted to give her due credit & appreciation
Proof that the Shakespeare fandom is alive and well thanks to John Mulaney memes.
Well considering the fandom has been active since like... The 1540's?
"you heard me, an ENGLISH MAJOR"
this was really an elaborate setup for "remember when you're 13 and you're like nobody look at me or I'll kill myself"
As someone who doesn't know what this means and never read Romeo Juliet this is hilarious

Yep.....
Being familiar with Romeo and Juliet...this is spot on
How can you not have heard of Romeo and Juliet tho, lmao

im so happy that these videos exist to fuel my obsession with sad 400 year old plays
That is a mood I have quite often
This is masterful. Thank you. It’s what both Shakespeare and John Mulaney would have wanted.
the way that this implies that both shakespeare and mulaney are dead LMAO
@@truevirgo the way you said that implies that Shakespeare is still alive

“that’s my wife! it sounds so adult-“ i just remember how young Romeo and Juliet were 😂
Idk whether to be scared or impressed at how accurate Mercutio’s parts were🤔
This was comedic gold melted and then shaped into different comedic gold. Just... gold.
I played the Nurse and I can confirm this is accurate.
I played the nurse too!
I get so god damn angry with the crowd when he does that brilliant movie trailer bit
I'm sad. I'm sad because this is under 1k
Oh boy do I have good news for you
As someone who’s never read Romeo and Juliette this is incredible
YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ANOTHER ONE OF THESE!
The accuracy is IMMACULATE hOW
So good Friar Lawrence this guy is either 40 or 80😂
This just reaffirms my eternal opinion that the one and only real tragedy of R&J was Mercutio's death
I'm so proud I got to do hi death scene. he will be missed, that blessed crazy idiot
I loved Mercutio - He was the only reason I liked the book.
When I was assigned the play to read in high school, I stopped when Mercutio died. This was years ago, and I have yet to pick it up again. I've been reliably informed things don't improve beyond that point, though.

Mercutio is the only valid character in R&J
why do I have a basic understanding of the plot and characters now
I'm hyped for Macbeth, but I'm also imagining what a RIOT Much Ado About Nothing would be
Im so glad you were able to post it! Hilarious and too perfect as usual :)
I'm just gonna cite this on my English paper
as someone who's obsessed with both john mulaney and shakespeare, i'd just like to say that this is fRICKIN FANTASTIC AND I LOVE IT
"My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love so deep, the more i give to thee the more i have for us are infinite. "
Why is this the most accurate thing on the internet
I feel like John would play a really good Juliet
This is how Romeo and Juliet should be shown to children to start out
You pass English once you can explain what this video is saying.
For Paris, they should have used the line: "Excuse me, I'm new in town, and it gets worse."
I lost it at the "if I got a plate of crack for the table" for Mercutio 🤣
This deserves so much more attention!

I wish we could’ve watched this after my English class read this a year ago.
