I agree completely. My old high school did Grease as their musical and some of the people in it were comparing the high schooler who played Danny to Aaron and saying that Aaron wasn't as good. You can't beat a professional Broadway singer, especially Aaron Tveit.
When Aaron was announced as Danny, this song was the one I was looking most forward to bc Aaron has such a great voice & I love it when you can only hear him sing & the music is soft.
Ugh. I just love this so much. Travolta’s version was more plaintive and unsure-like he doesn’t really understand what’s happened. But Tveit’s version. Oh man, it’s so powerful! You can really feel he’s hopelessly devoted to her.
I love his version of this song! I love how he made it his own. I think it really suits his voice. I just love Aaron in grease to be honest, he was an amazing Danny
They're not extinct, just not as common. I live in southern Wisconsin, and a few towns over from where I live there's a drive-in. My family and I have seen a few movies there in the past and it's still pretty popular. My dad said his first date with my mom was when they saw "Grease" at that drive-in back in the 80s. ^_^
Live had a different idea for Danny. Smarter, sweeter and more humanized, along with a James Dean cool. Different than Travolta's Barbarino. The ensemble was opened up, production challenge more the emphasis, with less camera work on Danny. Took acting to pare down to 18.
@@theheelerbooklife lol lol l thought it was a classic grease one with Jhon Travolta singing 42 years ago. l remember are school music teacher playing it for us to watch in the very early 90s. form uk England
@@theheelerbooklife as someone who used to be obsessed with the original movie (or "the Travolta" version), I'm head over heels with Grease Live, mostly thanks to the way Aaron played Danny. I watched Grease Live more times than the original movie. I recently even went back to watch the original and I actually didn't like it as much?? It's so weird, but it's like Grease Live completely changed my views. Aaron's Danny shows much more emotion than Travolta.
No se trata de comparar, cada quien su estilo. Y solo puedo decir que hacerlo en vivo como lo hicieron aquí en Grease live lleva un gran mérito. Genial Aaron

when they aired this again i noticed his vocal range is higher than travolta's did they do a key change or was this the original key for the broadway verison?
Aaron palys Enjolras, a revolution leader annoyed by love, in Les Mis so it is kind of weird hearing him sing about how much he loves Sandy. Either way, he is very talented and nails every role he plays

The second best Danny, I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot in my life - bc I'm Grease-obsessed). The first is still John Travolta.:) But he was also pretty good.:) Great job!
+Kardos Bogicca Well I've only seen three Dannys but Aaron and John are equally great and they bring their own style to the leader of the T-Birds (or better known in the original Broadway production as the Burger Palace Boys).
I love how he made it his own and not copied Travolta. I love a Broadway voice.
+Anna Cairns That's exactly what I like to hear!
my thoughts exactly!!!

Thats how you sing a song !!
exactly what I was gonna say
I love how this song builds and after "Sandy baby" this song continues to go over smooth, he took this song and made his very own, brilliantly
yes, a smart singer. Bravo !! He gave me chills !

Go Aaron ! Now this is great singing. Starts a little quiet, then louder, more emotion..... and never over the top. PERFECT ! A+.
bring back the drive in theater
I know right
At least 1 still exists in my area & it's doing pretty well.
My family & I sometimes go there.
Yeah. bring it all back. Where has all the fun gone?
They are still around. I went to my first one last year.

At first I was not on board with remaking Grease into a live musical but when I saw it..
I thought I would wait forever for that performance to be posted! Aaron sang Sandy really good and I like the new arrangement.
THIS SONG MAKES UP 100% OF MY WILL TO LIVE
This is phenomenal....
RaisedontheRadio eres lindo
Can't stop watching.....falling in love with his voice😍😍
I love Aaron's voice! So beautiful
I cry like a baby every time I listen to this 😭💔
John Travolta version makes me weep..... it’s so touching 😢
This musical/ movie was wonderfully made thanks 😊 I'm so happy for all the actors they did a good job. Sandy looks like the real sandy
Enjolras?
Yes :) ❤️
Addy p yeah 😂
This is what happened to Enjolras is high school so he gave up and joined the revolution
Megan Bolger explains why he was so bitter when Marius babbled about Cosette, he just didn't want Marius to go through this 😂
Erica Bautista EXACTLY I think we’ve cracked it! 😂
Oh look, there's my husband.
LOL. If I was 16 or whatever, he'd be my crush, not Bieber or those dorks. This guy has it !!
+whereya89- This guy was like 30 when this was filmed. So he is not young. Old ass people always play high school kids.

Mother of Dragons Totally agree
Mother of Dragons forget it 😡he is mine😍😍😍
I watched this over and over and over! Amazing
Now who is that John Travolta person? Aaron makes you forget everybody else. You go, Aaron!
Love Aaron. So many You-Tubes here to experience from Broadway studio sessions. Even a cover of Taylor Swift a hoot and well done from Elsie Fest.
I still hear Enjolras! Specially in the begging... When he's singing/talking hahahah

His vocals are fantastic omg :O
This song is indicater that Danny does care for Sandy, but his pride and image got in the way
This is my favorite song from this show
I hated the original, it was painful to watch even, but I love this so frickin much

He had his own spin on it because they didn't want him doing it exactly like Travolta then getting hate for it
This song wasn’t in the Broadway version, so they did transposed to a higher key than Travolta sang it in
They're doing an encore performance!!!!!!!!! Sunday, March 27th on Fox!
+Lexi Delgado I watched the encore
Just found this actor ❤I’m obsessed
