  • Amélie has to have some of the best cinematography of the past 20 years, not only does it bring us into the world of Amélie, but it's just so different to anything that we see anywhere else.
In today's video, I look at what equipment Bruno Delbonnel used to create the iconic look, as well as what makes the cinematography so unique because it’s undoubtedly some of the most extraordinary of the past 20 years.

Perhaps the most beautiful film of the last 50 years. Every aspect, from screenplay to acting to soundtrack, exudes absolute excellence.

I loved "Amelie". And again, after watching your video I am inspired to watch the movie - again. I loved the color palette of "Amelie". For me, it was not only perfect for the story, it actually gave it a nostalgic feel. I don't know why, but I felt like I was taken back in time. Brilliant movie. Now, I just have to see where it's streaming.

I always get the urge to rewatch films after watching video essays too. There really is a nostalgic feeling about it isn't there?
      It's on Prime UK!

I also see a lot of yellow infusing sunshine, warmth, happiness, youthfulness or clarity. While I can't speak French, Amélie makes me want to learn. A favorite movie of mine.

That is some of the most eye pleasing movie footage I have ever seen. I feel like every Instagram and video Lut/Filter of recent time has tried to copy the look of this…they are so similar.
Thank you for another great video…Happy New Year!

I had such a good time editing this video, such incredible work by Bruno Delbonnel. Oh 100%, but I can see why people like the look so much.
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy New Year!

I need to review this movie. I loved it the first time I saw it, but I never saw it again. And that was about 15 years ago...
I also saw a video from the Wolfcrow channel, which talks about the influence of the great Brazilian painter Juarez Machado on designer production. I had no idea about that.
Excellent video as always. I would like to suggest a video about any of Yimou Zhang's work (well, except The Great Wall hehe), especially Hero or Shadow.

It's definitely time to watch it again then!
I'll have to check that video out, sounds super interesting!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. His work is absolutely stunning, Hero is probably my favourite of the two so I think I'll be adding that onto the list.
