Was 20 years ago but my trip to Santa Fe was a bust... peasants pedaling cheap crap calling it native n clearly junk.. galleries in plotting that THEIR stuff was in some way different aside from price... was a letdown all the way around... whole place was just a trap to suck money in my view. Go see sights not buy the junk is my advice!
Very sad…and disgusting acts by these peeps…. I wondered why Al Zuni was closed…. I remember as a kid…my brother sold pottery…but at a very low price…. in return the buyers, sell them to tourists for thousands….and they still got away with this ridiculous scam
This is a misleading article. Collectors know the difference between fake and the real thing. Also, those selling the fake use the proper terminology like, faux, and simulated which puts them within the parameters of the law.
