When I was watching this video I was so teary!! Matpat has been part of our lives for years and it’s sad to see him go, I know every UA-camr has to go eventually but seeing someone who I watch actually do it is crazy to me, we love MatPat and can’t wait to see the future of the theorists
I've been watching game theory for around 6 years and its sad to see him go.
I wonder how Scott Cawthon will react to it has he already typed his reaction in on social media?
The two of them have been friendly rivals in a non-rival way for the past nine years to the point where as Matt mentioned, people jokingly theorized that Matt was actually Scott the whole time, even though he wasn’t obviously.
It does sound like From what he also said he might be taking a Scott approach at leaving it sounds like he’ll still be in the background a little bit working with the team he’s not fully retiring.
I’m just imagining Scott thinking to himself that meme quote “i’ve won, but it would cost” with the sad Wario 😂
I know that things can't go on forever, but it still hurts that it has to end.
After a decade of watching I'll miss him but I hope to keep watching his legacy lives on through others.

@@DiosGaming205Sounds like he'll be in charge but more in a background sense, likely unless necessary he'll leave each team to do their own thing, like Tom will run Game theory (who's been on GT live) the same way Mat did just not with the other channels added on.
I'm from Brazil and I learned English mostly from Matpat and one of his Pokemon videos helped me decide my future. I literally chose my field of study in college because of his video on Pokemon evolution and now I'm doing my major degree on it. I can't thank him enough for all he did for me! I wish him all the best on his new projects

I was busy with my training for work when the news broke. So coming home to find both the video and your reaction on my feed was shocking. Since Matpat has been my childhood. He's been there since I started to watch his videos on Fnaf when the series was starting out.
But at the end of the day, he deserves to step away and have the freedom to just talk to his wife/best friend about what they want to talk about and not about work or other business related stuff. After all, over a decade of time on UA-cam is what he and his team dedicated to providing us videos that's both enteraining and informative.
Of course, there would be those who would say that he could have made less appearances in videos. And while they're right... I feel like Mat's decision to be the face of the channel was so that he can be apart of the community that he had created a bit more was right. Even if it did cause him to finally get tired and get a well deserved rest from all of it.
Now, do I think we would see the last of him? I don't know. As it would be nice to see him show up in a future video once in a while due to how those who supports him would be happy. However, if that ever happens is up to him and we need to respect his decision. As he's only a man who deserves what he needs. And that's just be to with his family.

It's always sad nice and inspiring when i see that people achieving everything they wanted to achieve in their life and just be relaxed retired and chilled out for the rest of their lives! At the end the future we plan is just a theory O7s to matt patt he is going down in the legends of yt

I’ve been watching matpat’s channel since the early years with sans is ness, sonic, mario, Gamelab on youtube red! I was a elementary school student when I first discovered his channel, Now I’m turning 23 this year! he’s such a good chunk of my childhood…ima miss him once that goodbye stream rolls around.

Aside from that ILL MISS HIM SO MUCH. The worst goodbye’s are the ones you truly understand. I was so sad when Steph left but this is MUCH MORE INTENSE. I’m glad he’ll get to rest though, he is right, his schedule must have been crazy and even in GTLives you could tell that he was always busy lol. I hope he sees how much the internet LOVES him (even if you hate him, you love him be honest😂) he truly is an internet GIANT.

I've never watched much from matpat aside from the more popular FNAF videos but I know he meant so much to a lot of ppl and honestly that's the part that makes me sad about all this, since a UA-camr from a group I really liked and watched since I was super young also announced his departure from UA-cam
So I understand that feeling of someone who deeply impacted you taking their leave

Been watching matpat since five nights at Freddy came out and I’m sad to see my favorite UA-camr go I will miss him and the legacy he built up these past 13 year. I was there in the beginning of his channel and I will be there when he leaves and I will always miss him and remember him for his honest and genuine personality.

Man.. this was hard.. this was difficult.. I tried so hard not to cry because I was around a lot of people.. but I actually cried after the video.. and this was hard.. I remember watching MatPat 10 years ago, and 10 years ago.. I was a very young child... now I'm a lot older obviously.. I'm about to be an adult in a year or so.. and he's right.. change is scary and it is hard.. especially when you've been doing something for so long.. it's part of your day to day life.. you know, you grow attached to it... and you grow attached to the people you've met along the way, your fans and the community you've built.. and to one day be able to move on from that is very tough, and I know that this video was not an easy job.. especially for MatPat... I just know that I am so happy for MatPat.. and I am so happy that he's making the right decision for him.. I wish him the best of luck for him.. and you know he's right... he's dedicated a third of his life to this.. and now it's time for him to step back and everyone is going to have that moment at some point.. idk if you've fully heard the song "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" by Tears For Fears.. but in that song.. there is a part in the chorus that goes "Help me make the most of freedom, and of pleasure, nothing ever lasts forever".. and you know.. this reminds me of this situation.. MatPat has made the most of his free time to work on these theories, eventually making this into a job for so many years, and he's had fun doing it.. he was passionate about making theories and he's made the most of his time on UA-cam.. but now he's at a point where he is ready for the next part of his life and he is ready for change, he knew that this wouldn't last forever and but he still was such a W UA-camr and he was happy doing UA-cam like this for a time.. and he just inspires me.. everything he said in this video is true.. and we can't escape from making difficult changes or going through different chapters in our lives.. because we grow and we develop and eventually.. we have to make the right choice for us.. even if that is a very hard choice... but it is the right choice for us.. and I am so grateful for MatPat and his journey on UA-cam.. he was and always will be one of my top 10 favourite UA-camrs.. and he was and always will be like a teacher to me.. and I hope that the Theory channels can succeed and do well even without MatPat at the Front of everything.. I wish the Theory team very best ot luck..
