24th entry of my semi-daily practice of drone sketches using the Grandmother semi-modular synthesizer by Moog.

    PATCH AND PERFORMANCE NOTES:
LFO S+H to Attenuverter to LPF Cutoff In
LFO Wave Out (Square Wave) to Envelope Trigger In (in this case it goes through the mult since I wanted more options potentially, but it can just go straight to Trigger In).
This was an odd one. But it was an important lesson, I think and there were definitely some satisfying textures and movements here. My focus here was on not relying on a "drone" mode that just pipes the oscillators out. I wanted something that continued to engage the VCA in a way that, were I not careful, I could end up in a place of abrupt silence. This patch took things out of my ability to conceptualize what was happening, and so I was left to make careful considerations of where I could take it. But there was always a lot of risk here, with the very real possibility of unwanted, unexpected sounds that drastically changed the mood and tone (and I came close several times, especially with this filter's tendency to howl at high resonance).
