I have 1 question.....somewhere it is written ratio of two extensive properties is intensive..eg pressure, density.
Also ratio of two intensive properties is intensive. eg refractive index.
But we can say that length is the ratio of volume and area.Hence ratio of two extensive properties is also extensive. But it contradicts what is written............please clarify.

Now consider that we divide the system into two equal parts . So what happens is volume gets halved as well area gets halved
So since volume=Area*length
So I can say that length=volume/Area
So since both the extensive properties becomes halved I e
L=V/2 divide by A/2 so therefore mathematically length remains the same as V/A (2 gets cancelled) so
Conclusion is length is an intensive property
