very nice video. I purchased a rich brown icelandic at the 2019 Oregon fiber festival I am just now getting to. Never worked with Icelandic before. Your video was very helpful.

Would this be a good technique to use for processing llama fleece when you want to remove the guard hair?

I found it easier to hand card my Llama in order to get the long guard hairs out. Since there is no crimp and the nice soft hair is thin and straight, carding leaves the hair combed and straight with the long coarse guard hairs easy to just pull out. I still have Llama and can do a video on that. I found that combing worked but left the combed top pretty weak meaning that it does not hold to itself and can just fall apart. I have done both but combing does not work as well for finding the guard hairs to pull out. If you don't mind the guard hair then comb away but put a little twist in the top so it holds together better. Don't let it hang off your lap when you are spinning. Keep it neatly on your lap.

That's an excellent point about getting your tetanus shot. I do a lot of carding/combing, and always seem to catch a knuckle with my hand cards at some point during a fleece. I'm probably due for one soon.

My dr told me that I need to refreshed my TDAP every 7 years. It may vary by the manufacture, so a great question to ask our doctors :-)

Is this method also good for dehairing pygora?

If pygora is similar to cashmere then the answer is no. I had some cashmere and combing did not take out an of the guard hairs.
