As the strike by TSSA staff reaches its 11th consecutive day: the shocking truth about the disgusting bullying, victimisation and sabotage of the union by the leadership, led by new General Secretary Maryam Eslamdoust.
As the leadership of the transport union continue to refuse to neogtiate, their behaviour is bringing shame on the entire trade union movement - and has to be stopped now, before they do any more damage.
The appalling attacks by the leadership include:
    1) Refusal to implement the Kennedy and Conley report recommendations to change the toxic culture of the previous regime, who had seven perpetrators thrown out of the union for either committing, or enabling, sexual assaults, harassment and bullying.
    2) Victimising and bullying their staff, and anyone in the union who speaks out against their behaviour - including suspending three activists who were central to getting rid of the misogynist perpetrators from the previous regime.
    3) Disbanding the women's group, Women In Focus, on a technicality - who were also central to implementing change demanded by the Kennedy and Conley reports.
    4) Meanwhile, in a horrific slap in the face to the victims and survivors of abuse by the previous regime, the union is now PAYING OFF the perpetrators and allowing them to escape justice - such as Luke Chester, former interim Organising Director who was sacked for gross misconduct after the Kennedy report. Reel News has heard rumours that Chester may have received as much as £90,000 - while the women he violated are struggling with serious mental health issues and in some cases unable to find employment. We may never know the truth because these payouts have Non-Disclosure Agreements attached to them - something the union has promised never to use again.
    5) A farcial annual conference last month where all motions critical of the leadership were ruled out of order, dozens of delegates were barred from attending and there were even attempts to veto fringe meetings.
All of this is not only a serious attack on the democracy of the union, it is seriously damaging the ability of the union to fight imndustrially. Members are leaving in droves, decent people are resigning from the EC in frustration at their powerlessness to do anything, disgracefully pay talks have come and gone without any negotiations from the leadership, and members generally are feeling isolated and not supported.
It's time for everybody to support the union staff, who despite 11 days of strike action, are still too scare to speak out publicly. Join them on the picket lines, but crucially, everyone needs to stop giving a platform to Maryam Eslamdoust . That starts with Tolpuddle Martyrs festival this year, where she is due to speak - while MeTU, who were due to speak last year at the festival before it had to be abandoned due to flooding, seem to have been excluded.
If her appearance is allowed to go ahead, MeTU will be holding a demonstration - and with strikes currently occurring in both GMB and UCU against similar toxic cultures, now is the time to stand up and reclaim our unions before fake left figures like Eslamdoust destroy them - and with them, our ability to change the world at such a crucial time in human history.

I'm bewildered by this dispute. How does a Trade's Union get to this stage of undemocratic practice, when it's coming from the top down. Do the Members simply vote with their eyes shut, pay their monthly dues, and hope for the best? Trade's Union democracy takes much more participation than that. Is it any wonder workers are having such a tough time? The Matchstick Girls were more aware and connected. In this age of information 'on demand', there's no excuse for - not - being aware of what's happening, let alone who to vote for and who - not - to vote for.
