' They say Japan was made by a sword, they say the old gods diped a coral blade into the ocean, when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back in to the sea, those drops became the islands of Japan, I say Japan was made by a handful of brave men, men willing to give their lives to what seems to be a forgotten word, Honor. '

Try telling that to the Sengoku Era. Christ that period was nothing more BUT MESSED UP B A D
What a crock of shit lol.
@@justinchalifoux4424 Yeah, the idea of Honor only exists in times of peace.
I fought a lot of battles in my life. Against bad people, bad situations and, above all, againts my dark side.
I won, paying my victory with a lot of scars crossing my heart and my soul.
But, touching those scars, i feel proud of myself, because i'm still here. Tired, hardened, cynical maybe, but still here.
So, to whoever's reading this post, i wanna give just one advice: never give up. never ever give up.
I hope she has a peaceful and simple life. Never has to pull out her sword...if that day ever comes...she has done well in her training to do so.
There's this quote I'd like share.
The student asked the sensei
"Sensei why do you teach me how to fight when all you do is talk about peace..how do you reconcile the two?"
The sensei said
It is better to be a warrior in a garden... than a gardener in a war"

Odin, "A wise king never seeks out war, but he must always be ready for it."
Just a few weeks ago, I learned from my native japanese mom that we were some of the last descendants of samurais left in japan.
Just three days after the last samurai in my family died, another one was born, and three years later, I was born.
I wonder if this explains my fascination with the past, my want to protect my friends and family, and more.
My entire family has revolved around war and fighting, etc. My surname here in American means Ing's raven, Ing was the goddess of war. My father and his side were descendants of Vikings. My father worked in the military for quite some time before he met my mom. My mom's dad fought in WWII before he met my baa-san.
My mom left to America a long time ago, and only has been back the week my Oji-San died and my brother was born prematurely. She stayed there for a few months while my dad had to go home because he couldn't stay anymore. I've only been there once and the last time I was there, I climb a volcano mountain when I was just 1 years old.
Sometimes when I ask my mom stories from her childhood, Japanese history, and how things were, her eyes would get cloudy and she'd just give me a sad smile.
I wonder if she ever wanted to go back despite everything that happened to her.
In a way, I feel homesick too even though I was born here in America instead of japan. I've surrounded my free time with anime that a lot of times have to do with the past, or magic, or something related to those topics.
I guess, its just Japan's way of calling me home.
Idk why I wanted to share this, but something inside of me said so.
So, thanks for reading
Edit: Hey to everyone who read this.i really enjoy reading everyone's replies and stuff lol. Just an update on life, I'm planning on moving to Japan when I graduate highschool and move to my mum's hometown by the sea and start a life there. Hope everyone is doing well! Much love to all you lovely people❤
This is a wonderful story, friend. I hope your homesickness is cured soon.
Thanks for your story
There are two ways to cure something. surrender until it overcomes and absolutely destroys you..slowly turning your life darker and darker. or to fight it. fighting it in this case is to simply go there. iv lived an extreamly hate filled life for a long time and grew up fighting anyone or anything i saw. idk how im not in jail. But eventually i just broke. and gave up. for about half my life...and still struggling with it now i have nothing. motovation. happiness. peace. family..or friends. i barely have a hobby. Do not let it consume you as i did. You either keep fighting. Or you die. In my eyes I already did die. my hopes dreams and reasons for living were either killed themselves or died behined a wall of lies. before this turns into a lecture. just save some. and go. its japan. even if you wernt japanese i would have suggested going at some point in everyones life.

"Even a seed has to fight through all the dirt and stones in it's way until it breathes the nameless skies and faces the beautiful morning sun"
a quote that my mind made up when I was listening to this
The best down to earth mix of Japanese influenced music.... Most meditation channels put cheap piano or Synths over the top ... You chose the best - Nature . Nothing beats natural sounds for meditation
nature sounds whit good synthesizers can be also good, when its in harmony.
I have the same problem with relaxing music channels - I can always hear the synthesized sound of the music. I found that for me, Skyrim ambience works best, especially Skyrim by night. If you haven't tried, totally check it out. I never played the game but the music is magical.
Much if this isn't even Japanese melody or instruments at all.

God bless your life and family, my friend. We can always start again in life with more conscience. God loves you as his son and will put infinity grace on your path. Take care!
Happy to hear man, take care!
After I listened for 16 minutes, I don't know why, but I envisioned my future last moments of my life. I envisioned what my final thoughts would be, and they would all be the smiling faces of the people I loved the most: friends, my parents, my brother, my first love, my passed away cat, my stepdaughter, and my son. I wonder why I am crying now. Maybe it is because after I die, these memories will be gone forever and there won't be anyone to catch them, to live them, to remember them. One thing I know for sure, this music, if you listen to it carefully, alone, before you sleep, in the dark, with earphones, no distractions, and with an empty mind, it pulls something out of you: a warm, comfortable melancholy.
Thank you for this, whoever is behind this channel, whoever you are.

There is life after death... Those memmories won't all be for nothing. Don't believe me? Then make it one of your missions in life to find out if there really is one. After all, have you got anything to lose?

Beautiful description. I love you
@@zaer-ezart oops, I meant like what do people even see and how vividly do they see things like their thoughts?
the last samurai is truly a story of the battle of tradition. The modern in conflict with the old, the balance of yin and yang.
I think the key premise of the movie and takeaway, just as was expressed through many quotes you will find here, is this:
the greater advances of society, don't always translate to advances of the mind, body and soul. Where along the way do we lose our humanity? At what point are our lives experienced disproportionately in such a vicarious nature do we lose the essence of living? Seeing doesn't mean experiencing, hearing doesn't mean knowing, and coming closer to death each day doesn't mean we have truly lived today. Is this pandoras box of "progress" impossible to close? I hope someday people will turn their eyes from this screen you stare at now, look around and see what is around them truly for what it is. Do these walls protect the mind, body, and soul? Are you happier? We have made safe buildings and walls, to keep the threats out. But all we have done is trapped our own fear inside. Except now as a society, we have nothing to test our fears. Covid is a disease, that has shown me one thing; the real disease is our fear that has castrated us as living beings who deserve to walk the earth and feel the sand and dirt between our toes, to breath in FRESH air, and feel the rays of the sun giving us its energy! But if i have learned one thing from this movie and many other lessons in life, the key take away; if you truly are a warrior, who doesn't want to be castrated by society, dont let it happen actively. Sure the money and greed may win the fight, for now, but the way of the sword doesn't apply only to the winners. When you are down on your luck, when all seems doomed to fail, you will have your integrity, and honor still in pieces. Never stop fighting, no matter how great the odds may seem, and if you fail, then atleast you fail with your soul intact. Never let anyone take that from you ever, let no amount of money, objects, or people sway you from your center. And maybe, just maybe, with enough courage, we will change the course of our lives and society for the better, at the very least, we will leave a legacy by which the next generation has an opportunity to do so. Death before dishonor. Live by the sword, and die by the sword.
I read the whole thing :D beautiful.
I've never known anyone who experienced exactly what I've experienced in life. But I've met countless people who have felt what I've felt.
On the outside we are all imperfect. On the inside, we are all perfect. Just like the cherry blossoms. Just like anything that lives.

Honour.
To those who believe that only great power
manages to keep evil in check: it is not what I discovered.
I found that it's the little things ...
the daily actions of ordinary people
that keep the darkness under control.
Simple acts of kindness and love.
Why ordinary people?
Maybe because I'm afraid ... and they give me courage
Good quotation
I feel the same way
Society would literally be complete chaos, fear, violence and destruction ..without the unsung everyday heroes that keep it all running well, all in the name of love, honour, respect, kindness, simple joy courage and concideration.. without the everyday people..life wouldn't be worth living.. people forget this too often..

War was coming; the temple, to be breached. It would mark the second time a blade found itself in her grasp, even if unworthy of it.
Of her order, she opted to stay behind. Years, attempting to quell the lingering shame, since the tragedy that befell her master.
Since failing to open her throat that night.
Inner peace was forsaken.
So she lies in wait, to do battle against these same foes. To retain a semblance of what was, even in exile.
