Madonna & I go WAY back. And by that I mean I remember when I was about 12/13 yo going skating & skating to "Everybody"! By the time I graduated from H.S. in 1988 there wasn't a boy or dude in grades 7-12 (my H.S. had 1,600 students total) that didn't want to &#$@ her or a girl that wasn't somehow influenced by her fashion wise. And we all liked her music. You basically had to because between her and Michael Jackson, every radio station that wasn't Country, Classic Rock, Oldies (no Madonna but they did play some The Jackson 5 especially when they'd have "#1's of the early 70's" theme weekends or something like that), or FM in general, played them both in heavy rotation. As well as MTV. In fact I'm pretty sure you heard most songs on MTV first back then. I never bought any of her albums until 14 years after her first one (1997's Ray of Light) mostly because by the time one of them came out they'd already have over played the singles that were simultaneously on the Billboard Charts, again in constant rotation on MTV, or just hearing her name mentioned on tabloid TV shows like "Entertainment Tonight" literally every other day. She dominated the tab mag's and talk shows. If you would have gone to see Melanie Griffith in the movie "Working Girl" in 1987 you would have heard her big haired Staten Island bff played by Joan Cusack say the line "Sometimes I like to dance around in front of the mirror in my underwear, but it doesn't make me Madonna, it never will!" Or in a first season episode of the Golden Girls when the girls return home from a night out to find their house had been broken into & Blanch returns from the kitchen covered in flour insisting her "Mama's jewels were stolen!" They were returning home from what?? A Madonna concert! That's how important Madonna was. And not until now have I heard any remixes of her music better than this! Or by this DJ who I hope is known by Madonna and paid very well because THE most talented DJ's of the 1990:s such as William Orbit and Paul Oakenfold just to name a one or two sure where and did and without her music and concent to remix most of it wouldn't have had careers. And I raved to most of their remixes. And yeah, these are better!
