They give bracelets on the Mothers wrist baby’s wrist and ankle and the Dads wrist in the Mothers presence. All numbers names match. That’s how Americans do the identification. Every time the baby goes to the mother,she has to give that number and the nurse verifies it.

Yup, that’s why we always know that we have the right baby. No confusion. They also gave us a UV (ultra violet) stamp on our hands and on the baby’s feet for our last baby. Just as another way to verify. Like a backup to the backup. The UV stamp washes off, but it takes a few days before it’s completely gone. Long enough that we were going home before it was unreadable under the UV flashlight.
