you should go on navy net I think it’s called mate. They is a lot of people on there that have already applied or are going to apply so maybe you’ll be able to find someone going on that date.
Go for an initial meeting (or get in contact) with your local (chosen) AFCO, and they will talk with you about the different roles and what have you. They then talk you through how to submit an online application form and the process goes from there really.. psychometric tests, interview, eye test and medical, fitness test, PRNC and then if you are successful on these stages you will be given a joining date for Raleigh
@@art1c822 well I would say that is completely personal to the individual, the initial psychometric tests comprise of 4 short multiple choice booklets, a numeracy, verbal reasoning, mechanics and an English one if I remember correctly. Practice papers can be found on the Royal Navy website and also many on UA-cam. The interview was very informal in my experience and was a chance for them to get to know you, your family, your educational background, your interests, reasons for applying, your understanding of what your role will be and then also a chance for you to ask any questions you have. The medical is usually where your application can slow as they have to be very sure that there is minimal risk of your health being anything other than sound. From there you will be put on for your fitness test (1.5miles probably is a gym) - I did not end up doing this due to covid along with the PRNC.
Tbbt yeah plus with the navy you get many job opportunities when u leave such as oil rigs and pretty much anything to do with ships or boats. If you want any information on the navy, go to a site called navy net. It’s full of mostly ex Royal Navy personal and they will answer any question you ask
Jack Biggs yeah it’s not painfully physical but it still needs a bit of work put into it. I had to run 1.5 mile under 12 minutes for my fitness test which isn’t too hard but for someone who is not physically fit I imagine it would be. I haven’t been to hms Raleigh yet but I’ve heard you have to be a confident swimmer and able to do a certain amount of sit ups and push-ups
I’m hoping I’ll be in HMS Raleigh by the start of September but have to ask don’t to move onto specialist training after this or do u get a break. If you know plz let me know THX.
