I feel that homage in the bridge to McVaff's first take on this song from ~20 years ago. I definitely had that one burned on at least a few mix CDs back in the day. I like how the notes from the original bassline are played higher up in this version, as well as the airy-ness of the washes and cymbals.
That's really what turned my head. Like, "wait a minute. Didn't he already cover this?". :P Honestly IceCapped is more my style, but this is still very faithful to the original.

One of the things I've been commenting here and there is how cool it would be to take some of the old classics, and up-sample them and/or otherwise bring them into the 'modern' age. Though to be fair, in another 15 years, who knows where tech will have gotten off to, probably will want to do it again, then. lol All that, just to say. WOW I love hearing another MkVaff cover of this song. It definitely reminds me of the original, but it's still very much its own thing. :)
I have SO FREAKIN MANY remixes of Ice Cap Zone in my library -- *and* "Hard Times" by the Jetzons. But y'know what? I'm still gonna download this one, too, because it's yet another absolute BANGER.
0:00-0:40 Corridors Of Time much? ;p 1:40, and especially 2:34, hit me like a truckload of nostalgia - I still remember when McVaff(e)’s original icecap remix got posted on OCR. ....man, I feel old. >_
It's alright though I personally prefer IceCapped. I cannot stress enough how thankful I'm for IceCapped existing. I have a habit of listening to it frequently, such a beautiful piece of track. Thanks MkVaff.
