My final walk from this year's trip to Snowdonia. I drove across the National Park to a small but free car park in Llanuwchllyn, just outside of Bala. From there, I could pursue the ridge walk towards the summit of Aran Fawddwy. One I've been coveting since first seeing it in May 2019.

Good to be back in the area then Olly. It looked a fine start - misty and magical. It soon burned off as you said. Sorry to hear of the knee. You have to address that now Olly and devise exercises around the anterior cruciate or wherever it is. Make it your mission to have strong tendons and muscle groups. It's about specific targeting. I've been doing it and getting stronger. Well, a friendly farmer would be a fine thing. Meanwhile them were great views as was the valley. Yeah love them valleys. Last thought - you didn't see anyone. Lovely. All the best. Mark

      Hi Mark,
You are absolutely right about addressing the knee pain and addressing those that surround and support it. I'd do well to heed this advice, even though I've had no such trouble in the months since.
Glad you enjoyed my experiences of this day. I still cannot believe I saw not one other walker! Again, I hope you have a good weekend. Stay well. All the best and thank you again.

@@WalksWithOlly Oh totally Olly as we get older mate. It only takes the next long distance trail to bring it back into focus. Yeah, I always enjoy your walks Olly. I will stay well. Peace.

    Nice video! Lovely views
2:20 'I'm not too sure about that route .... ' I've had that feeling plenty enough times
At least it's better to be walking on grass, rather than rocks

Great video! You mention the Dysynni Valley, its where I live. You are correct in saying how peaceful it is. Live just a couple of miles from Bird Rock, I can see it from my garden, its heavenly!

Sounds beautiful indeed! I remember a group of teenagers (possibly Duke of Edinburgh) passing ahead of us but that was as busy as it got.
Thank you for watching. I'm hoping to return to North Wales soon.

Olly, one of those mornings in the mist when you know you are going to climb above it into the sunlight and beautiful views☀👍 I think that boardwalk was of some use even in that state😊 The rocky route is always better and cool to have no one else there except the 🐑 A stunning panorama from the trig point👍 and the views at the lough back up to the tops was really cool👍 The valleys should definitely be appreciated as well as the tops. A cool walk and well done to the knee for managing😊👍

      Hi Gerry,
Thanks very much for watching. I imagine you might be used to similar scenes, where as I have to drive a few hours to get near such mountains. I'd love to one day camp in a place like this.
Hope you have a good week. Thanks again and all the best.

Great walk Olly. It is a shame that this part of Snowdonia gets neglected in favour of the higher peaks. We stayed near to Dolgellau a few years back & like a lot of other visitors we also missed out on this lovely range of mountains. I think we will have to try this walk if we go back to that area. Loved the temperature inversion at the start of the video. 🙂🙂

      Hi Martin,
Indeed, you could approach these mountains from Dolgellau - I didn't realise how close that was at the time. I believe that some of the ridge path is also signposted from that direction... Or at least from a few photos I've seen.
Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for watching.
