The 1st is that the goalie had to smother the ball before it got kicked, regardless, and so his smothering attempt was the best it could be, but failed, as it would have if the other player was not there, who jumps over and away. The 2nd is that the final kick at goal puts the other player onside, just. There is an argument that the goalie tilted himself to his left a bit not just to prevent the ball passing under his left arm but also out of fear of being kicked in the face, however, it is impossible to tell and therefore cannot be called.
