awesome, thanks for this and all this info you put out. I meant to double check that these kinds of stats were appropriate for 1991, but forgot to check. this makes it easier ty
Hey Holden. I am loving your content. Are you going to be back in 22? I was mostly a Perfect team player but after coming up on your tutorials I have switched and started a Phillies sim. Your content, delivery, and knowledge make your channel totally bingeable. Keep up the good work dude!
Hey Frank, thanks for the kind words. Yeah, I definitely plan to still post videos when 22 comes out. I think a lot of the basics from my prior videos will still apply, but there will always be old or new feature to dive into. Perfect team, eh? I’ve actually never played it or even glanced at it. Worth my time, you think?
I listen to your videos while running. Keep them up. I'm and old-schooler. Started with Strat-o-Matic in the 70s. Currently getting caught up with modern statistics. For pitchers, is there a stat for total bases allowed per batter weighted against league average?
Thanks, Steve. I played a little strat-o-matic as a kid, but Nintendo arrived on the scene when I was in elementary school, so it cut my time with it short. I still play it sometimes with my nephews, though. I think the stat closest to what you're looking for would be wOBA against, which you can find on baseball savant player pages: baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/john-means-607644?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb
Another little piece that got my attention on something that irritated me. Head Coach taking command of the lineup, making me fire them. Thanks PJ now I can hold on to them. All that deep digging in the avalanche of stats today and trying to understand them have helped. Old dogs might after all be able to learn how to sit. LOL. I always thought baseball was a stat-game on steroids and today even more so. Love it.
I generally like lowering the aging a tab bit, like batters at .900 and pitchers at .950 so they dont fall off a cliff after a certain age but they still get worse. I haven't really touched development speed tho cause I feel OOTP does it well. Love these videos tho, lots of backlog to get through and im enjoying it
I’ve always left the aging speed along but have definitely thought about tweaking it a little bit. Have you noticed much of a difference with your change? Glad you like the video, thanks.

Yeah man, baseball reference is a good resource.

Yeah Stanley, that lineup setting is handy and something I never knew until pointed out in the comments a few weeks ago. It’s quite handy!
