Reviewing the HS710 | HolyStone's 250g FPV Drone

- After spending a few days with HolyStone's HS710 Drone I decided to make a little short film about the tests I did with it and explaining some of the things I both like and dislike about this quad. Ultimately, I had a lot of fun flying this but I had a hard time using the screen on my phone to fly due to the shaky video and shorter distance than I'm used to for fpv. During the outtro video segment of the drone footage, beginning at 49:40....what drone/cam were you using for that? Looked quite a bit better than the HS710 drone footage from earlier in the video.
That was from my custom drone I built using the DJI air unit for the camera. It's the 120fps cam with a dual antenna transmitter that is capable of 1.2 watts.

Glad you had fun with it, though! Do you have to send it back at all? I don’t know about this kinda stuff, if you get to keep or only for a short time…
No this was one they are letting me keep so I plan on doing some mods to improve how it records 😉

So much camera jello on the holy stone , almost hurts my eyes , your setup is a lot cleaner and stable
yeah, i agree but I'm willing to bet there are some ways I can make it better myself but would require some modifications. I tried a few things that didn't work so far but I have seen some of their other drones where the camera has way better stabilization but would have to try it for myself. It was fun to fly on its own but the camera and software definitely need some tweaks. I would personally rather have a 1080p stabilized camera than 4K one that's harder to watch. I want to try this cam on my drone one day and see how it looks. Unfortunately the camera on my drone currently costs more than this whole setup!

Quick Question: I'm looking to gather an arsenal of the HS710 Batteries...just so I can have a full afternoon of flight time. But I'm seeing that these batteries cost about $30 each....so I'm looking for 3rd-Party Batteries that are cheaper(but won't damage my drone). Do you have any suggestions/links for those? I can't seem to find any....and whatever I do find, they look ultra sketchy.

Could you suggest what settings you have for hs710 camera, my video is 100x choppier than yours, and what settings you use for drone itself
Are you by any chance flying in an area with a lot of wifi signals?

Hey what country are you in? Your steering wheel.is on the wrong side!! Haha Im on the Southern Canadian border in Washington state. Bout 10 miles south of BC. Im an old retired ( too old to fly anymore) Alaskan tail dragger bush pilot. Your first flight was a really outta sorts challenge for that little bug. All those trees with wind through their tops creates the worst turbulance for anything that flys. Even birds.

That first flight over all those trees in the wind was waaay outta soecs for that little bug. That creats the most turbulent flying conditions there are. Ssys a lot fir that.little thing. I prefer my Phantom style drons. Heavyier and mor stable in breezes. I know more weight means mire work and battery. Ive git a bsg of thise Mavic knick offs and live in the mountains so.always afraid I'll jyst be watching them go outta sight. You have s lotta stuff.for this age. Nice review. Dang
