Really enjoying this mod author interview series. A novel idea that differentiates well from the typical Bethesda / Starfield coverage. Oh, and I really enjoy watching you play Frost... it makes me feel so much better about my own experience playing Frost. ;-)
Thank you Alan! Yes I think watching me get destroyed can boost confidence in a lot of people playing frost😂
Skyrim mod author here. There will be modding for Starfield in the first week of release no doubt but the real modding starts when Bethesda releases the CK for it and when the SFSE (Starfield Script Extender) is being released. These two factors will unleash the real potential of modding this game but the past has shown that it takes Bethesda a year on average to release the CK. Kinda curious if we see a max. .esp file increase from the extremely limiting 256 esp/esm count for Skyrim and Fallout. Even with esl-flagged esp files this is still a big limitation in Skyrim/FO4 modding.
Might see it earlier, they planned to release Starfield in 2022 and now they have had a whole year just to bugfix.
Could be that they also worked on the Creation Kit as they bug fixed.
It's funny because as soon as I saw this game in action I thought the bones of it was literally perfect for making ANY experience from any universe you want and it will not only fit but be completely immersive and convincing. Take Star Wars for example! Can you imagine standing in the bridge of a Star Destroyer and commanding your crew to actually run the ship as the commander. Maybe you can be a simple pilot in a strike fighter or be a drop trooper that can land on and board enemy ships. Someone with some REAL skills could remake the battle of Endor easily with this. Ok I need to stop....I'm getting a little too excited.
I have to keep the faith that they are calling it CK2 for good reason and not a simple marketing ploy. Thanks for commenting Critish, I appreciate it.
Shoot I've been thinking about getting into modding for starfield and ive been a big fan of stuff like DUNE and it's sand worms and a lot of other pop culture references to add so I'm excited to get my hands on starfield.
This would be a great place to jump in, I know a lot of good mod authors will be dropping tutorials for the CK2 when it drops. I'm a big fan of the desert planets, so I hope we have a good selection of those.
PLEASE MAKE AN EMPTY SAND WORLD FOR DUNE MOD AND THE WORMS CAN BE TAMED AND RIDE ON THEM
7:20 The one good thing here, at least here in the US, is that AI art is not eligible for copyright under most circumstances, and when it is it's because a human created the parts of the work that can actually be copywritten (and I doubt companies want to get into partial ownership of anything, especially when the other part is legally unownable.).
The U.S. Copyright Office made a statement of policy in March saying that "In the Office's view, it is well-established that copyright can protect only material that is the product of human creativity. Most fundamentally, the term “author,” which is used in both the Constitution and the Copyright Act, excludes non-humans. The Office's registration policies and regulations reflect statutory and judicial guidance on this issue."
Hey Omega thanks for dropping that knowledge, I'm curious how AI will change future laws. If there is money in something, you know someone will try and corner the market.
Your not wrong, I can tell but that's because I play a lot with AI but yes I'm sure it is already being used and most people wouldn't know.
I've been dabbling in mods for a few years now. Already have a list of some stuff I'd like to make or see made. I would hope it will grant my 3D Art skills some extending, so I might be able to break into the industry one day.
Sweet Rolls... IN SPAAAACE, because of course.
Quest Line where you go out and retrieve real world art pieces from the old-earth era, and set up a museum.
Custom backgrounds and traits. Some backgrounds I had in mind were "Spec Ops," and "Spy" while a trait I am taking a great interest in trying to expand is "Eldritch Lineage" which could have its own perk tree for how far I'm brainstorming with it.
A Mac Cannon weapon. Like your space ship is basically one big ass railgun with one fat round that will pulverize virtually any ship as long as you can land a hit and manage the reload times.
More robots. I know its early and we've only seen one but I'm excited to see the whole set of Fallout robots added in.
Cyberpunk 2077 addons. I think it would be really cool to see a lore tie in and a wide variety of mods associated with the idea of what if that universe was canon or at least partially so, for Starfield's universe.
Definitely keep your eye on AI tools, I think you can find tools that can help you design and create 3D art.
Sweet Rolls: I would be surprised if Bethesda doesn't throw these in somewhere.
Backgrounds: Curious how difficult it will be to implement new perks and backgrounds. I think Dialogue options it won't be hard but fitting it into the existing perk tree could get messy.
Cannon: We had this conversation in the discord, taking like a Sci-Fi Gun modeling and scaling it up to the size of the ship, would be pretty sweet.
Robots. Yes, just yes.
Thats a cool idea, you will surely have to fudge some lore to make it fit but I would play a neon/cyberpunk playthrough.
Trying to imagine FROST in space. Imagining something horrible like Chaos Marines. But not loud and out in the open. Maybe Tyranids that are also intelligent. And are also spies somehow.
That many pennies gets you $10M (but what a pain to bring to the bank!).
I want to see how many pools that would fill, you would spend the rest of your life putting pennies into coin rolls.
I'm already looking for a land vehicle mod, atmospheric flight & space walking
I need to have some form of vehicle. that has got to be the top mod for a lot of mod authors or at least i am hoping.
God damn he used to play battle for middle earth, haven't heard anyone speak about that game for a long ass time.
I was surprised when I read that too, even though my first games on computer was Wolfenstein Doom, and Duke nukem installed with floppy disc lol.
WE NEED ULTIMATE CHEAT MOD AND UNOFFICIAL PATCH MOD ASAP THOSE TWO SHOULD BE UP WAY BEFORE I FINISH MY FIRST PLAY THROUGH (long time to finish)
PLEASE AND THANK YOU MOD AUTHORS
The way he said 'Fellow humans'... I don't trust him. He's a Skrull!
Now now, fellow human that's crazy talk. I bleed green like the rest of you, and I love that Human music.
Obscurum Pandemic for FNV is just insane.
Do you in your esteemed opinion think that modders can add in other romance options, land vehicles?
Veteran modder, most definitely. With how robust the engine and vanilla game looks it will happen eventually
@@Melatoninist Right? There's like a dozen marry Serana mods. And Creation Engine 2 is looking to be a much better step in the direction of mod support. It's only inevitable. I remember one of those mods actually took Laura Bailey Recorded lines from a bunch of other roles and cut them together to voice the dialogue. The BGS mod community is just next level, so much that even the Devs recognize it.
there aren't a billion people downloading the mods. there were a billion mods downloaded
Sorry I didn't make that clear. I just meant that's a lot of people looking at Bethesda mods, even if it's repeated downloads. and I was wrong again, it's over 6 billion downloads between Fallout and Elder scrolls. Thanks for commenting, have a good Sunday.
Could you interview the mod authors of Galac-Tac Retribution? I have some questions and it's my favorite FO4 mod, Starfield is the perfect setting for a mod like that, even if they just port the armor first.
I just took a look on his Nexus page, you are right, that is a perfect fit for Starfield and possibly Star Wars mods. I'll try and get in contact with them, thanks for the suggestion!
"Hello fellow gentiles "
Just used ai promo to find the below and pre subscribed so ai can be useful
What youtube creators are poised to be the main content creators for starfield
Here are some
Hopefully someone can make some kind of coop mode or something .. this day and age single player only is boring
They made a multiplayer for Skyrim, so it can be done but I imagine it will be a lot harder to make Starfield a co-op or multiplayer. But having that option would be awesome.
"Not all heroes wear capes, someone make mods" - Sun Tzu
I remember that quote. it reminds me of when Abraham Lincoln said ("Todd WTF, give me the Vehicles!!"
