I have acid reflux and it's going away little by little each day. And I can produce false cord screams easy because those are strongest parts of my throat, vocal a little bit quiet but still reaching good notes... Fry scream and head voice was struggling, but with acid reflux moving away little by little I can produce quiet head voice and fry scream... And have opportunity to blend fry scream and false cord with vocals... Amazing... it's like opening new America experience when that acid reflux got loosen... I didn't go to doctor, because it's expensive in USA, I study how to deal with it... Make sure you don't go Alkaline water or any other medications without doctors prescriptions. Most natural way to get rid of it, don't eat before bed 7-8 hours ... Don't eat tomatoes, spicy food, sugars, corn syrup, citrus, starch food... Eat healthy balanced food. But better to consult your doctor, because every acid reflux caused by different processes, if you gonna treat wrong, you gonna damage your digestion system and make things worse.

Im 40+ but have been amateur singing rock/ alt/power ballads in my car or in the shower, but never had proper training. If I don't have a history of singing or voice training is it too late to start? How do I find a teacher? Specifically for screaming and and growling? I particularly like the deep, raspy growl of older rock singers like Janis joplin, belting like 3 nonblondes, and POD is my favorite band. I love how lead singer Sonny screams.

Practice practice. I can do both. I couldn't scream for a long time. But I can now. Just have to practice! Vocal fry is a great technique too
