Here it is, 2019 and still nothing significant done to help us pick up the pieces. As a native of upstate New York, it's very disheartening to know, in no uncertain terms, we were expendable.

I remember when this first surfaced in the late 70s and early 1980.. it was a nightmare to watch on tv.. and of course a horrible nightmare for all those families in the Love Canal.

After attending High School with Lois Conn Gibbs, I had a special interest in watching her expert activism during this crisis. I continued to follow her involvement in the Love Csnal disaster and several other similar situations across the country. Twenty years ago, I walked the Love Canal ruins with Lois Gibbs and other past Love Canal residents. I published a story in a local community newspaper based on my knowledge of Gibbs and that experience. She truly demonstrates how a routine citizen can be motivated to gain expert knowledge and the courage to defend the health and well being of their family and friends.
Thank you for this account of the Love Canal experience. We learned so much from Gibbs and others and yet there is so much more to learn.

I just discovered this and for some reason it got to me bad and now I'm obsessed... there's just something about it...🤨😳😢😤 I saw a picture of one of the abandoned houses with a huge orb by a tree and it felt like a lost soul was crying out... Sounds crazy but it is very haunting and as it has been well revealed ...there is definitely much unfinished business there.... God bless you and Lois Gibbs for your voices and love in all this mess, I pray that progress and justice is served here!!!!🙏🙏🙏

Its February 2023 and the Ohio Derailment chemical fire has horrific similarities to this tragic historic event. Imagine the amount of documentation that would have occured had these folks had access to smartphones and social media as we have today. It's a grim picture that once again paints profits over the health and wellbeing of the nations citizens! The highest profiteers will ALWAYS cause irreparable harm and damage with their blind greed.

I lived on 99th St.. The Circles..
Its a shame they sold our old house, and people live in there now..2020..
I hear that some are not feeling well..
I was a teenager back then..
I used to get rashes on my hands and feet..
Dr McMahon used to give my mom an ointment.
Found out it was chemical burns..
    Glad we moved..
Sad they let people sign a waver and move to that area..

oh no.. not again... I hope that's not really the case, because I remember when this first surfaced in the late 70s and early 1980.. it was a nightmare to watch on tv.. and of course a horrible nightmare for all those families in the Love Canal.

It's insane that anyone would agree to live there, knowing...😳😳😬😬 even if they made it sound minimal, I feel one would have to be uniquely desperate to take their chances on that...🤨🤨🤯🤯 My home is not in very good condition, we have all kinds of bs problems up in here but thank God it's not on top of a f**king toxic waste dump!!! I wouldn't move my family in there if it was given to me fully renovated for free!!! Smh...

Probably not. Great presentation though. I live in Michigan and still do. Though I was 21 in 1978 I still lived at home with my parents. Some 300 miles away from love canal. I do remember reading about it and seeing a special on the News channel. I did not follow the story though. It wasn't happening to me. I stumbled across this and many other Love Canal Documentaries on You Tube. Then I started reading and reading. What I didn't know at the time was how innocent people are failed by their own City and Government. I am 62 years old now and love to read about history. I care more about history now because I have a family and a house and I want to see a healthy environment after I am gone for my sons and Grandchildren and all people in general.
Back to the Love Canal, it makes me angry and sad that this happened and then the City builds again right across the street. Just because there is a fence and and a road it doesn't stop chemicals from spreading. Didn't they learn the first time? How long will this liner that looked like bubble wrap covered with clay was going to do the trick or is it even working? The canal is still over flowing underneath. My thoughts are the chemical treatment plant is not large enough to handle the amount of waste. Children and adults had to die or have life long disabilities because of the City and Government not moving quick enough. I realize there are many Superfund Sites all over the US but I find this one most interesting. I am glad we live on a lot with 100 year old years in our backyard and it was once part of the woods. It has been a real eye opener for me. I hope you are doing well.

@@victormarrotti2575 Tnx for watching. I do not know what you mean by a combo version. However if you scroll through all of my videos, you can find at least three other Love Canal versions that i used to finalize in the Love Canal special you viewed.

@@franlucca That's what he was asking about; if you have a combined version of those 3 videos. However, it's not necessary. One can make a playlist of them & they'll all play in succession. Thanks for making these!
